June 2021 AVL-MXE running on MacBook Pro Unibody (5,1)

#1 Post by haakondahl »

I don't need help. Just wanted to say thank you and WELL DONE! Running from the live USB, fired up audacity, it used my connections etc with no config, the nVidia geforce 9600M GT works out of the box, and wifi uses "b43" driver.

I can play the piano straight through audacity, turned on playthrough, and no noticeable latency. That's better than MacOSX 10.11 which is currently installed on the SSD.

I'll post the QSI here in case it's useful, and I'll be back if I need help. I just couldn't keep this to myself. IMPRESSIVE. Why? Because I tried to install and configure JACK on my beloved MX Linux box, and gave up. Says here it's pre-configured. SOLD!

Remember kids -- right-click in Linux on Mac trackpads is just a 2-finger click.

Wow,

Thanks for posting when you (a) didn't have a problem and (b) when you didn't want to complain! That's a real day brightener!

Actually I know nothing of Mac hardware and I've never touched a Mac in my life so it's nice to hear that things are working on a Macbook!

By the way, that is a "late 2008 Unibody MacBook Pro 15". More impressive than you might suspect at first. Effortless from my end.
