Synergy Loves MXlinux
Re: Synergy Loves MXlinux
No problems here, using Synergy 1 PRO (paid). Using MX21 as Synergy-server and MX19.4 as client.

Re: Synergy Loves MXlinux
You should have gotten 2.4.0 as an update since you manually enabled the Debian backports.
It’s not recommended to manually enable this Repo permanently, but either way you should get 2.4.0 as an update since you did enable it.

Re: Synergy Loves MXlinux
I don't know how exactly I enabled the Debian Backports. Does it get enabled with Tab Click? Any reading material to understand this further?
Anyways, I would not like to deviate from the standard practice as recommended by the distro so would rather disable Debian Backports. How to do that? Post that will Barrier 2.3.3 work as expected?
Thanks,
Aksh

Re: Synergy Loves MXlinux
It seems on my main machine, I had Firewall Settings enabled to prevent incoming traffic, allowing that made Barrier work as expected and I could connect from MX-21 to MX-18. With regards to MX-21 to Win-10, It should work as well but I'll confirm in a while.Aksh wrote: Sun Dec 26, 2021 7:29 am On MX-21, I'm not able to connect from MX-21 to WIN-10 or MX-21 to MX-18 using Barrier. It's working from WIN-10 to WIN-10 just fine.
Thanks.
Cheers!

Re: Synergy Loves MXlinux
@Aksh thats good news. Sorry for the delayed reply. You can ensure the backports Repo is disabled using MX Repo Manager.

Re: Synergy Loves MXlinux
@Aksh you're best bet unless someone else tests it is to troubleshoot like you did before:
- check the firewall on both end
- on MX launch barrier from the terminal to see if there is any output
- verify what they have on their GitHub
https://github.com/debauchee/barrier/#usage
https://github.com/debauchee/barrier/#f ... -questions
I see some commits recently since the last release for issues with Windows, if you can't get it to work, I can try and build off the latest source files in the next week or so.
