When in MX Tools, there's also the option "Hide individual tools from the menu". Uncheck this, and you will be able to find individual MX Tools straight from the Whisker Menu and/or the Application Finder.

Re: About Flatpak
yeah ... MXPI is a great tool ... it is there to be used unless you prefer not to i suppose
i have mxpi launcher as a dock item .... hardly time consuming .... takes me as long to open a terminal and longer to type stuff but everyone has their own way of doing stuff ..... i mean there are even people who like tiling windows managers :)

Re: About Flatpak
mxpi = mx packageinstaller
MXPI is the Software Installer that has many tabs in it. These are the tabs, from left to right:
Popular Applications ------------- Stable Repo ------- Test Repo ----------- Debian Backports ---------- Flatpak
As already advised in this thread, you enter your search terms in the search box at the top right, and search each tab from left to right, to see if the app you are searching for is present.
If the app is found in Stable, Test or Backports, there is no need to install the flatpak version unless you absolutely need the latest version and the version in the other 3 repos are not the latest.
MXPI is found in the MX Tools window, under "Package Installer".
You can search for MXPI in the Applications Menu (click on the button in the bottom left of your screen) as well. The Applications Menu has a search box. Enter "package" and see what appears.

Re: About Flatpak
I have no idea what you are asking anymore. In viewtopic.php?p=665258#p665258, you said you found Vapoursynth in MXPI >> flatpak tab, and that you have installed it.satimis wrote: ↑Sat Dec 04, 2021 5:02 amIn my MX-21 Linux version hereasqwerth wrote: ↑Sat Dec 04, 2021 4:11 am mxpi = mx packageinstaller

So you now know:
1. what MXPI stands for
2. that you can find and install flatpaks from MXPI [what is so difficult about that, such that terminal commands are easier? I actually find the search options in MXPI for flatpak pretty good. You might want to have a look at the other options available in the MXPI flatpak tab. I use flatpak terminal commands in other distros, but I'm really happy to have MXPI handle flatpaks in MX Linux]
3. how to find individual MX apps either from the MX Tools window, or through searching the APplications Menu
4. that the options at the bottom of your MX Tools window can be found if you resize your display
Surely your main issues in your first post (and beyond) are resolved?

Re: About Flatpak
Of course: Before you click on the individual tabs, you must type in the search term. Did you do that? It doesn't look like that on the print screen you have posted.
Here is an example with "Vapoursynth" in MX Linux 19.4 (Xfce). Just click the link and you will see a GIF animation:
https://abload.de/img/peek2021-12-0412-479qk5o.gif
What does this GIF show? We have "Vapoursynth" in MX Linux 19.4 in stable repository but also as flatpack. (Maybe this is different in MX-21.)
