ok - thank you so much. i tweaked it here and there based on your instructions. got rid of docklike - that is the only thing i do not like on 21. and i rebuilt parts of the panel. i cannot tweak the arrangmenet of the clip, wifi and package updater green box. they are stuck together. i can live with that! i too use to file managers open and work like you too! thank you. so far my trackpad froze 2x and not sure what that was about. and as usual i hate tweaking all of the thnderbird settings and tools and menus etc. may leave it as is or just go to much dreaded web mail. so far the mx21 looks nice so thankk you Team!

Thunderbird settings.. when you have a .thunderbird folder in /home/username/ of your old install, you can try just copying it over to the new install, it might just work out of the box and have EVERYTHING set up for you. I have been porting that folder along since... oh man that folder is hella old  When I copy that in I am set and ready, no need to fiddle.

Before copying the .thunderbird folder make sure to disable getting new mail, just in case you don't want it to do that right away on the new one. Fell for that once, is annoying when it starts pulling in new mail and then I go back to my working one and I cannot get the new mail because the other one snatched it already.

Worth a try at least. And you're welcome!

If it doesn't work, just quit thunderbird, remove the .thunderbird folder, and restart thunderbird. It will then start completely new and blank again.

@chrispop99 -- I use two instances of file managers too. Actually, I usually work from the terminal. I love BASH.

chrispop99 wrote: Fri Oct 29, 2021 3:16 pm I know some will cringe at this way of working, but I've done it for many years. When I'm moving or copying files, I open two instances of the file manager, and drag and drop between them.

To open two instances os Thunar using Docklike requires extra steps.
Pressing SHIFT and clicking the Thunar icon is hard?

That version in the MX-19 Test Repo is extremely old. But the spacing options between the icons due to how the icon themes deal with spacing, it had gotten so many complaints that I think the developer left it at common spacing. There are a ton of people who use it with Manjaro comparing because there is no space at all.

Not sure if that option to set the spacing is on the table for future versions or not.

All the options, hot keys, etc were previously on the MX wiki long before it was public that docklike was going to be included.

So folks might not have seen the other posts about that.
