@davemx thanks.
So I’m definitely not tracking the suspend issue as much as I could.
But one thing to try is to use the 5.10 kernel with AHS and see if it still manifests.
Not sure what is up with your KDE install, it was working before?
Which kernel is that using?
Yes, I was using 5.10 on ahs-RC1 and it was fine with suspend. Obviously I don't know whether that will negatively impact on the AHS-goodness, but I'll install that and sort out grub.
I really have no idea what's happened with the KDE partition. I don't know whether it is caused by a fault in the /home/user area or the basic install. I downloaded ahs-rc3 and put it on a usb stick whilst running the MX21-KDE. It was working nicely until after I installed ahs-RC3, then when I tried to boot back into KDE I couldn't get to a desktop. I will re-install MX21-KDE this weekend to check whether it's a fault with /home/user. I can press CTRL-ALT-F3 to get to a text login, login as root, and get into a root desktop there. I've also been able to get into SDDM via that root, but when I try to log in as a user it doesn't, it just throws me back to SDDM.
Further on the suspend issue...
When I get the distorted screen following suspend, I've tried pressing CTRL-ALT-F3, log in as root, and run pm-hibernate. Obviously it returns to that same screen when I restart the computer, but now the screen is working OK and I can get back into my desktop by pressing CTRL-ALT-F7. So it's clearly just a graphics issue, all the stuff that should have been saved on Suspend is still there.
