I attached an image

#1 Post by PaulGureghian1 »

I attached an image here in one of my posts and it seems it was not attached after all.
Just attach it and post the question right ?
How to verify the image was attached before posting ?
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

I did not see it last time I attached an image.
Looks the same as an inline image anyways.

I had a problem earlier this morning where I could not attach a file of any sort, even though the forum software looked like the message was attached there was a "attachment quota reached" error message. maybe the OP's issue was similar.

Same happened to me yesterday and I deleted a few previous attachments to open some place (assuming the message was correct. However the number of attachments was not a whole number like 300 (Edit: At the moment it's 250 , so it was 254 ) . If the limit is not determined according to total size, like MBs ... )

Thank you.

I was just thinking to make a request for that. As it's a good (and easiest) tool to demonstrate .. and if especially "we" delete some of them, many previous posts would look empty ... without showing what we were talking about .. :)

There are ways to auto delete old posts which then create orphaned attachments which must be deleted manually. We do some of that now, called pruning. but i can be more aggressive.
Orphaned attachments occur when posts are deleted or edited, or even when users attach a file, but don't submit their post. We have 400 orphaned attachments currently but they do not consume very much of our attachment quota.

Probably more than you wanted to know.
