Look, I imagine everyone's getting kinda annoyed hearing about all these small issues from me, but common or not, they're still happening. All I can do is report them and try my best to find out what's going on.

@Arnox dont worry about your reporting, it’s helpful. I, myself don’t use KDE as a daily driver so I can’t help you, but give some time for those that know KDE well to get online… someone may have experienced this and know why it may manifest.

Out of curiosity is your system a fresh install of the RC, not a upgrade from one of the Betas?

I have been using RC1 since it was released and have had no issues at all. I say this without demeaning the reports of others. My hardware and usage is obviously different from others. I am just saying this to not discourage others from trying MX KDE.

We have updates to the Intel drivers coming. Off the top of my head I believe the newer Intel Driver version we are testing right now (21.2.3) supports RocketLake.
Not to confuse the Intel and Mesa versions... they are the same.

I'll PM you if you're up for testing the newer Intel drivers?
Sounds good I will test them out. Like I said the XFCE newer test release I had video support. Not sure what the difference in hardware support is between the two test releases? I overwrote the USB stick of xfce with kde. If I get time today I will burn a separate stick with xfce and compare again.

When you say "Xfce newer test release" do you mean Xfce AHS?

MX-21 Xfce RC1 (normal version) has much older Mesa and Intel drivers which I am tracking do not have support for RocketLake.

MX-21 AHS or MX-21 KDE are going to be the ones to try, but you'll want to make sure they are updated because we're working the updated hardware and graphical packages fairly steady on these to versions.

Yep. Had an MX 19.4 install but I completely overwrote it with a full clean install of the RC pretty much as soon as it came out.

I think one of the big problems is I don't have any extra storage to put in a control install of MX21, so I can't really revert back to a clean build of the RC to duplicate issues without wiping out what I already have.

It may seem like I'm going off on a tangent for the rest of my post but bear with me here. lol

I'm doing a huge comprehensive guide on Linux for new users in video form (though I may release the text version if people want it). Before I even start writing it though, I'm exploring all the use-cases that applied to me on Windows. And I do an awful lot. Syncing, gaming, music, torrents, office tasks, picture viewing, picture editing, video editing, audio editing, file sorting, file searching, VPNs, finding software, installing software, playing music, sorting music, browsing the web, and many other things. At the moment, all this digging and poking around in MX and asking all these questions serves three purposes. One, to, of course, ensure that MX21 is as stable and as light and as functional as possible. Two, to ensure that when I finally do make the final jump and delete Windows from all of my dedicated main desktop hard drives, only running it in VMs from now on, everything will be explored and sorted out. And three, so I can recommend both Linux and MX21 without any reservation and be able to answer common questions that people will inevitably have and finish the guide.

I've been using Windows since I was a little kid. Not special in the slightest, but it is VERY much what I'm used to. I know that operating system, I know the best programs for it, I know how it performs, and I know how to make it do exactly what I want it to do. And though I have used Linux many times before, using it for real as a full on workhorse operating system is a different matter entirely. There's so many things that I took for granted in Windows that now ALL have to be rechecked and possibly fixed for a Linux transition. The good news is, I'm definitely getting close to the finish line I think, but there's still a few things left that I need to check out and investigate.

So yes, I want people to install Linux too and it is not my intention at all to scare them off. If I didn't care, I wouldn't have said anything and would have just done something else with my time. MX is getting my attention and my anal scrutiny BECAUSE I care. ^^ But in any case, again, I should quiet down considerably once I feel I've addressed all the use-cases, which should be soon.

@Arnox
huge comprehensive guide on Linux for new users
Sound like a major task, worthwhile effort, but major task. Also don't forget that MX-KDE isn't the only version, some may not like to use KDE, thats one of the things about GNU/Linux. You don't have to use one Distro, there is no "perfect or better Distro" really, or applications for that matter. Everyone has there preferences and needs and ways to scratch those itches. You'll find some new users who prefer to use terminal based email clients because it it just fits them better. Just something to think about.

But this is all way off topic for this thread, you may want to start a thread in the chat about your little project... I'm sure other would be willing to help with ideas/feedback/general comments once you get to a certain point.

I downloaded the latest version of stacer from the website.
But the system alerted me that there is a newer version in the software store. The problem is that the version installed from the software store does not switch the language correctly.

latest version of stacer is the same version as you can find in MX package installer isn't it?

You can still install the version you downloaded, testing that version would be good to determine if its a Stacer package issue (new or old) or a MX issue.

In fact... the Stacer package for MX-21 is actually coming from Debian and is the SAME package version the developer has for download (over a year old).
So this might need to be reported up to them as well.

Can someone help confirm the version of Stacer does not switch languages correctly?

Edit: looks like there have been a bunch of language translation commits on GitHub, so we might want to build the current development version of Stacer.
NOTE: if that is why it doesn't switch languages correctly its not an MX or MX-KDE issue, it would be a Stacer release packaging issue, which we can work on doing
