@Leodudu after trying @dolphin_oracle 's suggestion above : (in case it still doesn't work) have a look at this thread: viewtopic.php?p=646697#p646697

(Summary: Sometimes it requires to first turn off them all, then turn on which are wanted, one by one .. )

"hopelessly"? :footinmouth:

I see antiX has a alsamixer-equalizer-antix package, not sure if this has anything to do with it or not?
@anticapitalista do you know if this provides a "Pre-Amp option" per the linked post above?

I can work on packaging this over to MX in the next few days.
there is a ray of hope :supercool:

@dr-kart i packaged it, but it has issues running, so need to iron that out, also don’t know if this provides what you want… but one thing at a time.

@gsm i searched for RTL8101 on Repology and nothing came back, doesn’t look like this specifically isn’t in any Distro, might have to do some research this one a bit cause I read quick that it should be handled by the r8169 driver already.

Did it work OOTB on MX-19?

I use the RTL8101 driver from here: https://www.realtek.com/en/component/zo ... s-software
The r8169 driver does not work correctly with kernel 5.x. It will automatically first be removed when rtl8101 driver is installed.

I try MX-19 64-bit Live right now on the same HP mini 110:
I have internet OOTB using MX-19 64-bit Live (with driver r8169), which was not the case with MX-21 64-bit Live, where i did have a connection, but no internet.
With MX-21 Live i have to remove the UTP cable and then have only a good WiFi connection to the internet router.
Note:
Over time the r8169 driver appears to be restored and rtl8101 is uninstalled again. The rtl8101 driver which i used is not a dkms version. The question now is how to avoid that r8169 is restored and make rtl8101 permanent.
So i blacklisted r8169 and will see what happens.

... and that's with r8169 ?

Meanwhile, it looks ok with 5.10 ( or 5.x) according to here:

https://linux-hardware.org/index.php?id ... -17aa-3975

i.e. https://linux-hardware.org/?probe=466576f64f ( 10ec:8136 & 5.10 & r8169 )

Manjaro 21.0.5
Arch x86_64
Kernel 5.10.36

Code: Select all

@mcdagan : I was just replying to that thread :D

Maybe this works: First do everything according to your taste (also try ARandR from Menu), when all are just as you wanted: ARandR => save the current situation as a .sh file, then put it in Autostart. i.e. viewtopic.php?p=646697#p646697

(The created file by ARandR is already executable, so, no need to chmod +x etc... )

@waldmattis : download/file.php?id=14531&mode=view

Menu => MX Tweak => "Other" tab : "Enable mounting of ..."

Apply.

no write access to built-in second hard disk

Good evening.
I have installed a second hard drive in my laptop instead of the DVD drive with a caddy.
MX is installed and booted from the first hard drive.

Write access works through the file manager when I open the hard drive in Thunar with root privileges.

But when I try to save a file from a program, I get the message
"The file could not be saved because you do not have the proper permissions. Choose another save directory".

How can I permanently organize for programs to access this second hard drive?

Thanks for any tips.

Regards
Karl
