is it better in any way to use MX 19 with uefi/gpt than legacy bios and mbr?

I understand that uefi is required for secure boot and that uefi requires gpt (at least on a windows machine).
And I understand that MX does not work with secure boot.
So is there any benefit to using gpt under mx 19 (assuming that is possible) other than feasibility of larger partitions (and larger files?)?

there is no practical limit on the number of primary partitions on a gpt partition table device. and it does work better with UEFI. partition size might be larger, I don't remember, but something in the 2TB range I think. doesn't really affect file size, that's governed by the file system.

I wouldn't change a whole disk setup that was otherwise fine just to get a gpt partition table.

tnx dolphin oracle. I know can use disk bigger than 1 (2?) terrabyte and have more than four partitions. that is of no use to me. beyond that, in windows, uefi (which requires gpt) is necessary to use secure boot and for other windows security features. that is irrelevant for MX. so I am fine with legacy bios and mbr. however, if I buy a refurb machine that has only uefi and no legacy bios option, then my question is how do I install mx on that machine and, more importantly, how can I use the live usb that I make for restoring mx to put mx on such a uefi machine? thereby keeping all my settings, whatever.

Many new computers are now running MX Linux, as you can see in the multiple topics in the forums. MX Linux works without any issues with GPT under UEFI, and it works and installs automatically.

Don't worry any more. MX Live USB Maker will create the live clone of your pc that can be installed on MBR or UEFI systems without any problems. You don't need a computer engineer degree to get it to work, as many many others have done it without an issue.

Once you get your computer and try installing MX on GPT you will see that your fears are unfounded. And if you do experience an issue, I am sure anyone here can help you.
