Re: MX-21 RC1 feedback (Xfce)
I can't find where the screen saver is.
There is no 'xfce4-screensaver' in the software repository.
But the user manual tells me 'Click Application Menu > Settings > Screensaver'
I don't know if it was discarded or just not in the software sources I use

Re: MX-21 RC1 feedback (Xfce)
When after a timeout period of no activity, the screen is resumed with only a cursor on a black screen, then this behavior is related to the default selected Xfmw Compositor (MX Tweak).
Refer also to my reply #65, EDIT 2.
XFWM4 Composite only seems to become a problem when it is selected as a Compositor with MX Tweaks.
It does not cause the "resume with cursor only" problem when composite is activated with the Windows tweaks settings from the settings panel (xfwm4-tweaks-settings).

Re: MX-21 RC1 feedback (Xfce)
There appears to be a bug with MX Tweak > Display > Hardware Backlight.
Moving the slider around quickly with the mouse results in bar length not matching with the number displayed and actual brightness.
The faster the slider is moved the more wrong the bar is compared to the actual number/brightness.
Making a small adjustment either with the mouse or keyboard fixes the problem.
Closing and opening MX Tweak moves the slider to the correct position.

Re: MX-21 RC1 feedback (Xfce)
There is some bug in the panel that when you first set a custom color with opacity other than 100 percent the panel requires a restart for the change to go into effect.hebelwirkung wrote: Fri Oct 08, 2021 1:41 am Small thing, but panel opacity can't be set. Also I saw the discussion above about theming, and am wondering whether the wildflower background, coupled with the barely visible conky, is going to persuade first time users it's classy. That may be changed of course with a few clicks, and of course esthetics is a very personal thing, but I was thinking first impressions matter etc, so perhaps a slightly less wild default background might be worth considering.
Other than that, so far I haven't found anything not working. Oh, one other thing. On first install (in Virtualbox), after rebooting and entering my password in the login box, I was taken to the login prompt again if you see what I mean - I entered my password about a dozen times without being able to log in. Reinstalled and found that problem was fixed.

I amended my earlier post saying that after a reboot, the panel opacity is now working as intended. Sorry to cause confusion - but on 19.4 or earlier, and in the beta versions of 21, changes took effect immediately, I assume it may be a tiny glitch which will be ironed out before final release.

Yes.SwampRabbit wrote: Fri Oct 08, 2021 1:55 am @Leodudu when you installed the Nvidia drivers you used the Nvidia Driver Installer and selected that you have an Optimus enabled system?
It seems to me that in both Pop!-Os and MX Linux, the main monitor is controlled by the Intel adapter, and the other two monitors are controlled by the Nvidia adapter.
The commands I would like to make permanent are:
xrandr --setprovideroutputsource NVIDIA-G0 modesetting
xrandr --output eDP-1 --primary --mode 1920x1080 --pos 1600x0 --rotate normal --reflect normal --output HDMI-1-0 --mode 1600x900 --pos 0x0 --rotate normal --output DP-1-0 --mode 1920x1080 --pos 3520x0 --rotate normal

Re: MX-21 RC1 feedback (Xfce)
@Leodudu i personally don’t have any Nvidia hardware, used to, but Optimus systems can be tricky in way the GPU connects to the the outputs. Vendor integration can vary from laptop to laptop.
Give everyone a bit of time to look at your issue please, it may take someone knowing more and being able to reproduce this exactly.
