So until now I was able to use the PPA .deb package for slimbookbattery in MXlinux a handy tool to save battery on laptops:
https://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2019/05/sli ... zer-ubuntu
as you can see it mostly had ubuntu in mind.
Now this was normally a non issue as the ubuntu packages did work, that is until the recent 4.0 version.
Now yes TLP does help a little, but this has far more customization and a nifty GUI to boot.
Anyhow, they do have a github, so the package may just need a separate recompile for MX:
https://github.com/slimbook/slimbookbattery
I would do it myself but I always had issues compiling and my laptop is not up for the task.
I did see this was requested before but its still not in the official MX repo

Re: Package request: slimbookbattery
For some reason it never got added to the repo, can't remember why, its still sitting in my "For_User_Testing" folder.
Did you try to use this package from that other thread yet?

Re: Package request: slimbookbattery
Its kinda the point of me sharing the built package before I send it to the repo... the previous version built was buggy as heck, the current version has issues too, not something you want in an application like this.
Did I say it won't get packaged? Its already packaged...MadmanRB wrote: Thu Oct 07, 2021 12:09 pm It doesnt get packaged I guess I will go back to kubuntu :(
I'll package the latest version when I get some time.

Re: Package request: slimbookbattery
Okay so the one for MX19 does work at least on my machine.
I even installed MX21-RC1 to check viability and it does check out.
Here are my specs:
