Re: MX-21 RC1 feedback (Xfce)
My experience:
Clean Install Beta2 & upgrade to RC1.
I've had a quick look to mack sure I wasn't repeating, apologies if I do.
Installed cleanly and saved "Home".
Grub os-prober doesn't propergate enteries for Arch/Antix linux, so it fails to boot. OK for Devuan, Gentoo and Obarun.
The last line of entry being:
initrd /boot/intel-ucode.img
When it should be:
initrd /boot/intel-ucode.img /boot/amd-ucode.img /boot/initramfs-linux.img
I've manually edited with grub-customiser. However, apparently grub-tools solves the problem, but not available in repos.
As mentioned before about themes. They can be changed in xfce settings/appearance and all but the MX apps will conform. The MX stay with the blue border.
Firefox browser only: Right button mouse menu is too close to the pointer and opens new window when button lifted. To stop this annoying feature either the mouse needs to move or button held down to select another option.
TLP settings fail to be acted upon. Battery charging values set to 25-80% and it charges to 100%. I think I noticed this when I upgraded from mx 19.4 to Beta 1.

Re: MX-21 RC1 feedback (Xfce)
Looking good here so far.
Downloaded iso from sourceforge, 64 bit. md5 was good, so burned to a USB stick with the MX USB Creator in the beta2.
Booted and hit install, 7 minutes later rebooted to the new MX21.
Installer was no problem, installing to my testing partition. Reused the existing swap.
I updated grub in MX 19.4, and rebooted.
All working so far, configured sound card with the MX tool, works, installed nvidia driver (460.91.03-1) with the MX tool. Rebooted.
No problem.
USB unmounter behavior normal.
Suspends to RAM and wakes up properly.
Synaptic installed the usual list, with dependencies, libs... 161 packages
The data drive was automatically mounted, though in tweak ->other I did enable mounting of internal drives by non-root users and Root for administrative tasks.
Bleachbit only removed 11MB, and another reboot for testing stability after all the changes. Still have to tweak firefox, but the usual stuff is working.

hello dolphin_oracle
hello chrispop99
hello gsm
turns OFF every ten minutes.
beta1 did this; then, user changed some power manager settings to Never and never looked back on the problem after [#199,#222,##603-614,#648]reporting it in the beta1 thread. gsm, look to those posts in beta1 thread for discussion.(?)
Now here it is in rc1. it turns off every ten minutes with its default settings.
Four machines tested , all same behavior, ten minute idle blanking leads to lost session or special intervention cntrl alt F1, F2, F7, F10, or the tweak set to use intel seems to work, chrispop99, but it changes settings when two displays are in use.
post rc1 number 17 by member gsm indicates this. cursor only.
I think chrispop99 mention three machines, i mention four machines, gsm one mention.

Re: MX-21 RC1 feedback (Xfce)
I recently found out MX Linux and it's been a joy to use on my main Laptop, couldn't ask for anything better performance and easy to install interface.
The only issue I have with this is that even RC1 doesn't seem to work with my Intel Celeron N4500 HTPC, even with the new kernel.
But Ubuntu flavours work somehow (currently stuck on Lubuntu 21.04 on this machine), my guess is that it has to do something with the graphical driver itself, since I can't change resolutions either

Re: MX-21 RC1 feedback (Xfce)
On Firefox menu issue remove gtk3-nocsd package. This was still present on beta2 but has been removed from rc1. The library is responsible for all sorts of weird little gtk an window manager issues.Jamesthedisciple wrote: Wed Oct 06, 2021 11:45 pm Screenshot_2021-10-07_15-40-42-small.pngGreetings,

Re: MX-21 RC1 feedback (Xfce)
Because of a resume problem, where only the cursor is returned after the screen was turned of, i used MX Tweak to select the intel driver for my HP Mini 110 netbook.
Resume, after the screen was turned off is working now.
However, i have now a new more serious problem:
Several functions from the control panel do not start, e.g. MX Tweak, Window decorations and also MX Tools cannot be opened.
Also instead of auto-login i need now to type my password to log in. The system seems to work slower.
In the Start Menu, Settings, i changed MX Tweak to start it in a terminal window.
It shows that a theme module for clearlooks could not be found in the module path.
No clearlooks packages can be found with Synaptic or with the MX Package Manager either.
Any ideas how to fix this.

Please reply with your Quick System Information, and more details about how it doesn't work.

Small bug report:
Using F4 for the Drop down terminal only works on the Primary Display. Even though my cursor is on another display, the drop down appears on the primary. Move to monitor with pointer is checked in Preferences -> Drop-down tab -> Position.
