Oh yes, that's true. But most of my time, my wifi connection is more faster than my android phone connection. So it was make me confused, because when I was updated mx linux using android phone connection, is more faster then using my wifi, even I have to lost my data on itj2mcgreg wrote: Thu Sep 16, 2021 9:09 amYou are confusing transmission protocols between the two network access methods. In a cellular network, high bandwidth (speed) must maintained in order for voice calls to be coherent and low latency. In this type of network, a user is charged for access time and data usage (in Mb).imingame wrote: Thu Sep 16, 2021 6:53 am Oh sorry, I'm going to update my comment before, but I don't know how, so I post it here.
Two days ago, I tried to update using MX Package Installer, and I'm using connection from my android phone this was not I usually did, but because before that day, I was using my wifi to update It was very slow. But when I was using connection from android phone, I was so fast. It's make confuse, what was going on with these update server. I did check my Wifi and I's fine, I was using that connection all time even watch youtube in high resolution.
maybe someone can help to explain.
In the cable, dsl, or fibre access methods, a user generally pays for data usage in Gb/month and bandwidth (transmission speed in megabits/sec). The more bandwidth a user purchases, the faster his / her transmission rates will be.

Re: Slow speed of Update server
At this point in time, this problem seems to be unique to your internet connection and not a fault with MX. Otherwise there would be multiple ongoing complaints posted here in the forum. We will try to help you solve it or explain it, but you have to give us all the details pertaining to your wifi connection eg:
-- the name of your ISP
-- the bandwidth specified in your contract with the isp
-- the allowed data use per month and what happens if you exceed the data limit
-- the make and model of your modem/router
-- how many devices are currently accessing your wifi connection
-- finally, you need to post the Quick System Info for your laptop (see the signature area of Huckleberry Finn's post above for instructions)

In Linux, newer isn't always better. The best solution is the one that works.
