If it contains the "desired" result, logoff/login.
Here it is:

Code: Select all

$  cat /etc/default/locale
#  File generated by update-locale
LANG=hr_HR.UTF-8
LANGUAGE=
LC_MESSAGES=en_GB.UTF-8
LC_NAME=hr_HR.UTF-8
LC_TIME=hr_HR.UTF-8
LC_PAPER=hr_HR.UTF-8
LC_TELEPHONE=hr_HR.UTF-8
LC_MONETARY=hr_HR.UTF-8
LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8
LC_IDENTIFICATION=hr_HR.UTF-8
LC_ADDRESS=hr_HR.UTF-8
LC_COLLATE=hr_HR.UTF-8
LC_MEASUREMENT=hr_HR.UTF-8
LC_NUMERIC=hr_HR.UTF-8
and, as you can see it does differ in the value of LANG variable which is set to en_GB.UTF-8 in my locale. :confused:

You would select the desired LANG at the login screen,
it defaults to the system LANG
but remembers last chosen within
~/.dmrc
which is than pre-selected as login LANG locale

@asqwerth gotcha on the docklike issue, I’ll be packaging a newer version with that setup later tonight.

On the other package you gave me stuff to customize … it starts with Skippy and ends in XD. :p

oh if both boxes are unchecked then no change is actually made. I suppose I should make those such that one has to be checked.

I have inserted MX-21_beta2_x64.iso into DVD drive, the DVD drive is added to the same and only one SCSI controller in this VM.
In boot order, boot from DVD is set as first entry.
When I start this VM, it boots from DVD, however, when I select the first GRUB entry to boot into, it fails to find boot device
with error that no block device found and then I can't proceed with installation.

This VM is currently running MX Linux 19.4 which I installed same way as mentioned above.
Please let me know if any more data is needed.

Please help on how I can proceed installing, what is missing here.

Thanks.

@mxlinuxuser I had a coworker/friend install the Beta on a Gen 2 Hyper-V VM running on server 2019, if someone doesn't help you through this, I'll be reaching out to him later today.

Thanks @SwampRabbit, hopefully someone gets a chance to see the issue I am facing.
It seems something is broken between MX Linux 19.4 and MX Linux 21 Beta 2 for Gen 2 hyper-V VM,
as MX Linux 19.4 installed like a charm!

@mxlinuxuser I haven't been able to get that info for you yet, in the meantime, you might want to hunt around the web for "Hyper-V Gen II"+"Debian 11"
