I already did in beta 1. Window buttons works fine. I'm supposed to be testing beta 2 and helping to fix problems, and beta 2 comes with that Docklike Taskbar plugin thing, not Window Buttons, so I'm working with Docklike.dreamer wrote: Mon Sep 13, 2021 2:17 pm @JayM
You should try your problematic apps with the normal Xfce panel plugin called "Window Buttons". We need to know that they work correctly there before we assume it is a Docklike problem. Maybe you already checked that, I don't know.

Re: Dark Theme Issues
If you mean all of the components that can be launched from the MX Tools launcher app (the one with the top caption "These MX applications save time and effort with important tasks."), I have somehow managed to get them all to be dark. If you mean some other components, can you specify how they were launched? It does not work for any of the mx-tool components either via addind the start argument to the desktop files or by adding the applications to kvantum
Re: Dark Theme Issues
None of mine, beyond mx-tools and vbox, launch dark (they all launch white). px-packageinstaller was launched from mx-tools. When I change the mx-packageinstaller desktop file to use the same command as mx-tools (-style kvantum), I get the 'non-dark' result. (This applies to snapshot as well....)imschmeg wrote: Mon Sep 13, 2021 7:32 pmIf you mean all of the components that can be launched from the MX Tools launcher app (the one with the top caption "These MX applications save time and effort with important tasks."), I have somehow managed to get them all to be dark. Re: MX-21 beta 2 feedback thread (xfce)
The xfconf setting doesn't require libxfce4ui-nocsd. It just tells gtk3 applications and maybe python applications to use gtk3 with or without headerbars. It might be confined to dialogs, but that is still pretty important since headerbar dialogs put buttons at the top. I only looked briefly, but I remember that the titlebar of the main LibreOffice window didn't look "normal" without changing this setting to false - but that might be a false memory...dolphin_oracle wrote: Mon Sep 13, 2021 4:28 pm is that xfconf-query code supposed to do anything without libxfce4ui-nocsd installed or is libxfce4ui-nocsd required?
Since Thunar is an Xfce application libxfce4ui-nocsd is required.dolphin_oracle wrote: Mon Sep 13, 2021 4:28 pm I think that really just affects dialog windows, and not even all of those. take a look at the "configure custom actions" dialog in thunar vs. the regular thunar preferences dialog for an example.
The change was made in Xfce 4.16, not anywhere else... For applications that are native CSD like File Roller there is nothing that can be done, except ugly gtk hacks. Why would you use those applications like Gnome applications if you don't like CSDs?dolphin_oracle wrote: Mon Sep 13, 2021 4:28 pm What was wanted was a solution that didn’t require xfce but thanks for the info.
In MX-19 with Xfce 4.16 I have identical look n feel with libxfce4ui-nocsd and the xfconf setting. There is no change compared to stock 4.14 except that the Xfce Settings Manager lost the search field (which is very basic), but that doesn't matter. There are no ugly gtk hacks and no bugs. It's clean, because it only changes that which was changed in Xfce 4.16.
Note to self and others: SysVinit is a good option. However if you run into problems try with systemd first. This applies to AppImages, Flatpaks, GitHub packages and even some Debian packages.
Re: Dark Theme Issues
Is that true even for the few that don't authenticate using mx-pkexec? For instance, MX-Tweak? For the ones that do go through mx-pkexec, I think I needed some other tricks, as I recall they by default see /root as the home dir instead of your home, hence don't pick up your ~/.config settings, so won't see any for kvantum. Did I put something into the original thread about that? I recall posting it somewhere...

Can anyone guide me where I can change the amount of vertical space moved (or scrolled) by turn of the mouse wheel?
