@mowest thats not a bad idea.

I think some of the original versions had mx, mxfb, mx-kde, and other logos spanning that "banner" area, I kinda liked that but it was a bit busy.

I wonder if your idea with the logos would work, I can probably mess with it at some point.

mame don't work in mx 21 beta2( even beta 1).
i installed mxlinux beta 1, xfce with kernel 5.10. what to say all right, but unfortunately no mame game is recognized. It gives me errors in all the roms, which for example does not happen to me with my main distro, LMDE4, with kernel 4.19. how should i proceed to have a working mame here too? I use mame in the stable repo, and gnome-video-arcade. They are the only games I play with every now and then. I would like to install mx on the laptop but, without mame, I would have some shortcomings! what should I do? Thank you so much!

One thing I noticed was when I installed WINE with Synaptic. Installed it ok. However, the windows program I sought to install through WINE did not.(A windows media converter program for the .dmg format) I have the MX-21 beta currently in a dual boot with Linux Mint. And Mint has this program installed just fine.

Possible this is a WINE issue and has nothing to do with the Beta. (Mint has an earlier version of WINE.) But, thought I would bring it up.

Otherwise, really loving MX. Not too many Linux distros even boot on the newer systems, detect the NVME PCI, or other newer hardware.

Disk Manager? Running through my notes one by one setting stuff up. Just needed to do something in there, nowhere to be found. Checked the manual, where it pointed to disk manager, including location, but not there.

I guess I missed it, did this get removed/replaced?

Disk Manager was removed and not in the repos. Gnome disk utility is a replacement. It is in the repos. It is much harder to use than the very simple disk manager, although it has more features.

@Nite Coder is working on porting Disk Manager. It wasn't maintained and is an older Python 2 program that needs to be ported to Python 3 and have all of it library calls updated to newer versions as well because it is tied to a number of depricated libraries. It is a slog, just got the window to appear this weekend, now lots of library calls to fix so that all the functionality is there. Not likely to make the final, but hopefully can be added back in shortly afterwards.

Thanks, I will check that out. All I need it for is to automount one USB drive.

Same. I really like the simplicity of DIsk Manager.
