MX-21 fluxbox beta 1 feedback thread.
Re: MX-21 fluxbox beta 1 feedback thread.
There are two entries in the sub menu Settings that do nothing. Window Manager and Window Manager Tweaks. Looking at full_menu they point to xfwm4-settings and xfwm4-tweaks-settings. When run from a terminal, I get this.
siamhie@mxflux:/usr/bin
$ xfwm4-settings
These settings cannot work with your current window manager (Fluxbox)
siamhie@mxflux:/usr/bin
$ xfwm4-tweaks-settings
These settings cannot work with your current window manager (Fluxbox)
siamhie@mxflux:/usr/bin
$
I suspect they are a holdover from the Xfce/Fluxbox installation? Will I need these two entries in the future or can I just remove them from full_menu?

This is my Fluxbox . There are many others like it, but this one is mine. My Fluxbox is my best friend. It is my life.
I must master it as I must master my life. Without me, my Fluxbox is useless. Without my Fluxbox, I am useless.

I'm not sure how they get in, but I'm unable to remove them either in a terminal or in Synaptic.

I can remove them from the full_menu file. Do I need them in the future?Jerry3904 wrote: Tue Aug 31, 2021 10:31 am I'm not sure how they get in, but I'm unable to remove them either in a terminal or in Synaptic.

Yes. xfwm4-workspace-settings works, just not xfwm4-settings or xfwm4-tweaks-settings.

Will it be removed from the final release and those corresponding entries?dolphin_oracle wrote: Tue Aug 31, 2021 11:34 am ah, I see xfwm4 is installed on the beta 1 iso. it shouldn't be and can be removed. @m_pav @Jerry3904

Re: MX-21 fluxbox beta 1 feedback thread.
I plan on re-installing Fluxbox once the final release is out. I've replaced my SATA hard drive with an SSD and setup a separate root and home partition for the MX21 release.dolphin_oracle wrote: Tue Aug 31, 2021 11:45 amit will be removed for the final iso yes. its not going to be removed automatically from any existing systems.siamhie wrote: Tue Aug 31, 2021 11:44 amWill it be removed from the final release and those corresponding entries?dolphin_oracle wrote: Tue Aug 31, 2021 11:34 am ah, I see xfwm4 is installed on the beta 1 iso. it shouldn't be and can be removed. @m_pav @Jerry3904
I've gone ahead and removed these entries from full_menu.
