Debian's gnome can use wayland. Xfce is not there yet.
Thanks Dolphin :) much appreciated that speedy reply :)

I use Evolution for my email. I am unable to print the email on my printers. I receive a message Printing failed. The printer replied "Printer not found"
Using MX19 I used Evolution and had no issues. I tried from Thunderbird and all worked ok. No other issues using MX21.

Sounds like the problem is on the Evolution side with the new version 3.38. Look at this thread that comes up on a search for "Evolution print problem," maybe it will help.

What is the calendar that pops up when the DateTime panel plugin is clicked? It looks like the Orage calendar but Orage isn't even in the Bullseye repos. The only calendar that's installed is ncal for the terminal. I just want to configure the pop-up calendar to not show the week numbers. Thanks.

OK, thanks. It just looks so much like Orage which is configurable. IIRC I was able to remove the week numbers in Orage's settings.

Thank you friends
The owner of the PC wanted to get it back so I installed Debian 11 for him with Xfce, everything works fine.
Hoping that this problem is useful for others.

On my favorite subject, Docklike Taskbar, is there a way to launch another instance of a pinned item? Left-clicking only opens the instance that's currently running and I don't see anything in the right-click context menu that allows me to open a new instance. I have to use the Whisker menu if I want to open another (for example) instance of Thunar where with real launchers in the panel I'd just have to click on the launcher again to open a second Thunar. I don't see anything in the wiki entry for Docklike about launching multiple instances of pinned apps either.

when we started, it had a "launch another" option in the right click menu, but that's apparently gone.

shift+left_click will do it though.
