MX Fluxbox Screenshots
Re: MX Fluxbox Screenshots
Good thought for sure. We are obligated to go with the uniform default background, though--which I like very much.

Re: MX Fluxbox Screenshots
Installed MXFB-21 to 'metal' (well, actually installed it to a 16Gb USB-stick) for testdrive.
I know it is still in first beta stage, but it's running really smooth. There are still some rough edges (mostly aestetics, font size etc), but I'm sure it will evolve into final stage soon.
Honesty demands me saying that I made several cuts and hacks into this beta.
I ditched most of the xfce apps except xfce4-terminal and xfce4-power-manager. Thunar was replaced by PCmanFM-qt / Xfce4-app-finder by jgmenu / Xfce4-clipman by parcellite / Xfce4-notifyd by dunst.
Then also Deadbeef made way for Audacious, Mpv+Celluloid is now my media player of choice. And I installed only part of LibreOffice (writer, calc, impress and draw).
Conky was downgraded (temporarily) to v/1.10, in anticipation of of patched v/1.12.2. And fbmenugen provides the semi-auto-updating cascading application menu in fluxbox' rootmenu.
lastly, I copied quite a few conkys, scripts and tint2 configs+executors over from my existing MX-19 install. It hardly required any updating.
Below screenshot shows (more or less heavily modified) personal versions of:
conky = ManyRoads (or so I named it). Original by - and thanks to @ManyRoads
tint2 = my take on kobaian's MacOS-inspired toptoolbar and bottomdock (thanks @kobaian , they're great)
jgmenu = dropdown menu (drawing colors and font directly from tint2rc)
gtk theme and fb-style = crunchbang (not showing in this scrot)
fwiw: I'm running here an 'update' command, which can be manually started from tint2 toolbar

Looks very nice!
That's what we expect for this "base", right?Honesty demands me saying that I made several cuts and hacks into this beta.

Re: MX Fluxbox Screenshots
I've done a quick research of fluxbox-styles, how they match current gtk-themes. I have to say, some of theme are nice, but many are for me complete rubbish, that don't match at all the default themes of MX-Linux. Especially, there is a lack of lightweight styles that have the similar shade of gray or pale as Matcha-light themes. But, why? If we've got Squared_for_Debian, why not modify it a little to be Squared for MX?

Re: MX Fluxbox Screenshots
I think the idea of looking at a style of our own is a good one. I have a number that I placed by default in the fluxbox folder, and just finished fooling around with a new one that has a bit more color than yours and rounded corners.

Re: MX Fluxbox Screenshots
Papirus-mxblue is wonderful
brownish on folder tab color is just right for a Style color.
