MX-21 beta 1 feedback thread
Re: MX-21 beta 1 feedback thread
RemasterCC not listed in MX Tools app anymore? I did find it by searching, and it works, there seem to be an empty spot where it used to be.
Re: MX-21 beta 1 feedback thread
Are you running Live? It needs to be live to be enabled, I see it when I boot from the ISO, it won't show when you boot from installed MX because there's nothing you can do with Remaster CC when booting from installed system. Let us know if that's not the case for you...j.kemp wrote: Mon Aug 23, 2021 7:02 pm RemasterCC not listed in MX Tools app anymore? Re: MX-21 beta 1 feedback thread
Also, mostly I'm just testing the 32-bit distro to give some feedback on quality. Long-term, I'm planning on running 64-bit OS. Too much newer software doesn't even release in 32-bit anymore. And some of this stuff is a huge effort to compile, like chromium.dolphin_oracle wrote: Sat Aug 21, 2021 3:32 pm@swac please supply the /var/log/ddm.log file.swac wrote: Sat Aug 21, 2021 2:34 pm I installed the 32-bit fluxbox beta on a Dell M2400 with Nvidia Quadro FX 370M. Installation went fine but I wasn't able to install the Nvidia driver using the built-in Nvidia driver installation tool. I tried installing manually with the driver file from Nvidia's driver web page, but the Nvidia driver seems to be unable to disable the Nouveau drivers.
be warned...32 bit nvidia is getting less and less. there is only one driver set left in debian 11 that supports 32 bit drivers, and you have to be able to use the nvidia 390 drivers for that.
Anyways, as requested the ddm.log file is below. I tried multiple times with no success. I think a possible solution would be write a workaround to manually install the drivers in the documentation somewhere. Thanks for all the hard work on the distro.

Thanks for replying. You are correct. I am not live, that explains it. I have always been live in the past, but decided to install during this test. Are you running Live? that card is no longer supported by 32 bit drivers, but the tool is supposed to tell you that. will look into where it went wrong. @swac thanks for the log file.swac wrote: Mon Aug 23, 2021 8:39 pmAlso, mostly I'm just testing the 32-bit distro to give some feedback on quality. Re: MX-21 beta 1 feedback thread
@asqwerth That is the DoubleCmd repo: https://doublecmd.sourceforge.io/
..... https://sourceforge.net/p/doublecmd/wiki/Download/
I've been using it for years. This version is still using GTK2x
I've only noticed the artifact with Firefox and Thunar so far.
I will purge doublecmd, reboot and see if it goes away. [Purged.]
Firefox and Thunar give the artifact when autostarted.
Started normally, so far don't see it.
Setting FF & Thunar to autostart and see if it still happens.
Yes, the artifact is back, showing on Firefox and Thunar.
Also notice that my hidden panel from bottom left,
appears momentarily unhidden at the top left;
but it.goes back to the bottom without any intervention.
This occurs regardless of the state of Autostart for Firefox &/or Thunar.
Seems to be more related to the Autostart process.

Autostart using the "Save session for future logins."
does not start Chrome
under sysvinit nor with systemd.
but then latest Chrome app isn't working very well for editing until after opening the Preview menu? The editor refuses to insert the Quick System Info.
Only worked by using the Clipit app.
Did not work by Pasting directly after running the QSI.
