I finally found out what generates that message. If you edit your rc file in the .config/tint2/ folder, remove B from the "panel_items =" line. You won't get the message popup anymore.chrispop99 wrote: Fri Aug 20, 2021 3:58 pm Every boot live and installed, on a 64-bit desktop machine, generates an xmessage;
ChrisCode: Select all
tint2:Battery low!
Another way is to open the settings manager, tint2 manager, config, select your theme and click on the hamburger. Select Panel items and in the Elements selected section will show
Battery. Highlight it and move it over to the other side and select apply when done.
This is my Fluxbox . There are many others like it, but this one is mine. My Fluxbox is my best friend. It is my life.
I must master it as I must master my life. Without me, my Fluxbox is useless. Without my Fluxbox, I am useless.

Re: MX-21 fluxbox beta 1 feedback thread.
Thanks, but the idea is to have a solution that works for laptops and desktops without the user changing anything.siamhie wrote: Sun Aug 22, 2021 5:01 amI finally found out what generates that message. Yeah, I was thinking it would be handy for the user but it needs to go.chrispop99 wrote: Sat Aug 21, 2021 11:45 am The desktop right-click menu contains an entry for Email, which does nothing.

Thanks. I need to check whether they are needed by any of the other Xfce4 packages but it doesn't look like they should be included.i_ri wrote: Sat Aug 21, 2021 3:51 pm hello dolphin_oracle
<xfdesktop4> and <xfdesktop4-data> are installed packages (?)
@m_pav I snooped around and can see no reason why these should be included--unless you know of some disaster that would result if we took them out!

And the widget is working with that command in place, having just shown up on my laptop on the right side, just inside the clock. Tooltip gives a bit detail but we might improve or remove that.oops wrote: Sun Aug 22, 2021 6:15 am... I love this b/c it's out of the way until needed. Does 25% seem like a reasonable visibility?

Me too, it's a solution "à la Fehlix" ... 25% is ok for me.Jerry3904 wrote: Sun Aug 22, 2021 8:48 am ...

Re: MX-21 fluxbox beta 1 feedback thread.
I didn't test this on the XFCE version, but, in the fluxbox version, when I ran MX Tools and selected alsamixer the F-keys were not captured by alsamixer and their global functions happened instead.

Re: MX-21 fluxbox beta 1 feedback thread.
The problem mentioned by others regarding the "no battery" error on desktops, I found that by making alterations to tint2, it came up again. At one point I had the error message on screen in three different windows! It's definitely being prompted by something that comes up when you run tint2.
