I would like to request a battery and power optimization app that is developed by Slimbook.
This app works on ANY laptop. Its a really useful app that I currently use to alert me on charge cycles for example below 40% and above 80% so that I unplug my power cable to increase battery life.
The app has other features such as auto-disabling WiFi when the LAN cable is connected.
I was unable to find the GIthub repo but was able to find an AUR git clone created by a Manjaro Dev

Re: [Package Request] Slimbook Battery
In AUR, if you want to see the source Repo that they used and it’s not on the details page, I always go into the PKGBUILD, so the link on the upper right.
It says
In the case of this application that source Repo is a good one because it is a PPA, so that means we should be able to rebuild it without much issue.
That being said, it’s still a PPA so we won’t know if it will take a lot of work to rebuild or not, But… I’ll attempt it today for you.
It says
Code: Select all
source=("https://launchpad.net/~slimbook/+archive/ubuntu/slimbook/+files/
That being said, it’s still a PPA so we won’t know if it will take a lot of work to rebuild or not, But… I’ll attempt it today for you.

@mystic
Please give this a try before I send it to the repos, I tested an install in a VM, it kinda works... but not fully tested obviously.

It does seem to spam the logs for some gtk issues, I'm going to email the developer later with the log files, don't think its an issue though. But this application is in Beta, so be careful.
Also if you don't mind, are you familiar with the other Slimbook applications there? Do you own a Slimbook?

@SwampRabbit
Unfortunately, I don't own a slimbook and haven't tried any other apps of theirs.
I own a single system that runs Manjaro and was running Slimbookbattery for a couple of months without any problems and I didn't know it was still in beta. Perhaps using the MX test-repo would be appropriate till a stable comes out.
I tried installing it on a live MX 21-beta1 and could not install, got an error "Dependency is not satiable: libindicator7"

Re: [Package Request] Slimbook Battery
@mystic that package is for MX-19. You didn’t specify a package for MX-21, we’re not really taking requests officially just yet for MX-21, but I can make one.
If you use Manjaro… what are you doing here?
Time to use use MX full time!

@SwampRabbit
lol, I am migrating to MX that's why I wanted this package to be in!
it works well with MX-19, hopefully it gets into MX-21. Thanks!

@mystic it will be in the MX-21 repos shortly, I'll keep an eye on it and update it when I can.
