The Thunar side pane shortcuts view in previous versions showed Devices, Places, Network. In MX-21 it shows Places, Devices, Network. Can I revert this? I don't see anything in Thunar documentation to help.

My list of Devices is long and I like to see them all at a glance. I rarely use the Locations list.

Gigabyte B550I Aorus Pro AX, Ryzen 5 5600G, 16GB, 250GB Samsung SSD (GPT), 2x1TB HDD (MBR), MX-21-AHS
Lenovo Thinkpad X220, dual-core i5, 4MB, 120GB Samsung SSD (GPT), MX-21

You have to manually edit them in ~/.config/xfce4/panel/docklike-#.rc. Could a GUI applet be made as a front-end for editing the order of pinned apps? That would be a lot easier for Linux newbies and those who aren't comfortable with editing configuration files.
Jay, you can move them with CTRL+left mouse button, and drag it.... its in the wiki. But I admit, right now there is a bug which only allows moving them up, not down... and sure its not as intuitive as Windows Buttons because you can drag and drop them if that setting is set.
@SwampRabbit Yes, that works. I must have missed seeing that in the wiki. Call it a user training issue. Docklike vs. window buttons will just take some getting used to and learning 'cause it's different. I retract my request. BTW I can move mine in either direction not just one.

as far as I know the list is not reversible. you can turn off items though. right click in the side pane but not on an item to see the options.

@dolphin_oracle Thanks for that - I've reduced the Places to a single item, which I couldn't do by right-clicking items.

@Jerry3904 I'll do that when I get time.

So can I.

And I learned something new today, ie the drag and move function for docklike.

OK - Looks like it's unlikely that the option will be added. I won't pursue it - I'm happy with the workaround

agnivo007 wrote: Tue Aug 03, 2021 2:30 am In the meantime, with no smb gui support in sight, may I propose a NFS GUI (updated recently to use GTK3/QT5) for inclusion and testing?
AFAIK, MX boots with NFS kernel mod loaded.

Ignore if not relevant.
We don’t need to beat the horse, we are tracking this issue since it was already brought up.

But thanks for mentioning NFS GUI, I’ll look at it.
Do you have a suggestion for SMB?

I was looking at Gigolo as it is kinda part of Xfce. Trying to get the newer version to built now.
