JayM wrote: Mon Aug 02, 2021 2:25 am Regarding Docklike Taskbar, there's no simple or intuitive way to rearrange the order of docked apps. You have to manually edit them in ~/.config/xfce4/panel/docklike-#.rc. Could a GUI applet be made as a front-end for editing the order of pinned apps? That would be a lot easier for Linux newbies and those who aren't comfortable with editing configuration files.
Jay, you can move them with CTRL+left mouse button, and drag it.... its in the wiki. But I admit, right now there is a bug which only allows moving them up, not down... and sure its not as intuitive as Windows Buttons because you can drag and drop them if that setting is set.

Honestly I don't think features will be added, just bug fixes hopefully. If someone wants more features... they better start sending commits to the git repo.

The biggest thing with xfce4-docklike-plugin over its lifetime has been so many people bombarded the original developer with wants/needs, that they pretty much walked away from it.
Not many people want to contribute the thing, but lots of people want this and that from it. We were lucky that someone else came along to take it over and its finally made its way into the Xfce GitLab Repo. A 14yr kid did a ton of work on our initial stab at it. Heck, I was doing translations for it because no one wanted to. :p

Sorry, I'm not trying to take anything out on you boss, just frustrated because its so close to a perfect replacement... it just needs some more time and contributions.

If anything we just go back to good 'ol Windows Buttons for release.

What some people may not realize is that this thing has really gotten better despite it still having bugs, here's the first entry in the packaging change log
xfce4-mxdock-plugin (0.0.1-1~mx19+1) mx; urgency=medium

* Initial packaging of upstream version for MX 19.
* Debianization of package

I've even tried to $ people to put some time helping with it... but nope no one wants to work on it.... guess I can't compete with all the stimulus checks gaven out in the U.S. :p

I have to admit the CSD apps are looking good. I'm experimenting with the greybird scheme and I think it all looks quite handsome, which is a big shift for me.

It has to be something specific with your system, did you configure sensors through the terminal yet?

I purposely tested this on 3 different physical systems 2 AMD and 1 Intel to verify. All I did was install then open the darn thing and test all the options... everything reported and displayed fine.

I need verification from more people before I spend any more time packaging new versions of this, I've already gone 2 versions above the Debian Bullseye version, and I've see no changes in function.

running a dockapp. used wmmoonclock for example.
Panel Using Window Buttons the dockapp right click on dockapp icon opens a context windowmenu for the dockapp window includes "Move"
Panel Using Docklike Taskbar there is no right-click on dockapp icon action. No windowmenu available for dockapp window. "Move" is not available.

yes there is, you just have to know where to click, there is clicking between the icons and clicking on the icons.
the options can also be found under MX Tweak, this was posted several times now
https://mxlinux.org/wiki/docklike-taskbar/

open a terminal and right click it see what happens, you get "Pin to Dock, Edit Launcher, Terminal Preferences", etc, etc

right click in between two icons, you'll see Properties, About, Move, Remove

Hello SwampRabbit
"right click in between two icons, you'll see Properties, About, Move, Remove" it is controlling the docklike-panel-plugin. I do not want move of plugin; i want move of moonclock dockapp window. no right-click windowmenu for wmmoonclock in Docklike Taskbar.

OH! I see what you are saying, its specific to window maker apps.

I'll bring it up to the developer of xfce4-docklike-plugin.
