Installed on a ThinkPad. TouchPad is a little jumpy but it is like that in Windows, too. I put in %P in the last clock property's field to get AM/PM. Some things are new and a few older things are in different places but all in all, I can't find much to complain about. If you decide to change the sudo default to the way it was before, who do I write the check to?

Agree, SwampRabbit gave the tip, MX Tweak --> Other_check the radio button

Changes to a classic root PW model. Which I prefer.
It was the Mepis and MX way earlier, right? Am I remembering correctly?

The question is which should be default. I would vote root.
I realize the devs cant ask for votes on everything.

But PhantomTramp asks a fair question.

Testing update,
Over two days of heavy use, installing, took another 23 synapic upgrades. Reboots, sleep and wake, heavy data transfer, has a real Debian stable feel to it, but with all the nice toys and tools added on.

A remarkable beta, worthy of a Warren beta level :number1:
MX 23.5 on Asus PRIME X470-PRO
AMD Ryzen 3600X (12 threads @ 3.8 GHz)
32 Gig DDR4 3600 (Crucial CL 16)
Nvidia GeForce GT 710
Samsung 970 NVMe nvme0n1 P1-3=MX-23.5, P4=testing
Samsung 980 NVMe =1TB Data, plus 2TB WD =backups
on-board ethernet & sound

SwampRabbit wrote: Sat Jul 31, 2021 1:04 pm @agnivo007 the Thunar Samba plugin may be missing, it was just packaged recently, not sure if that is the problem or not.
Can you see if it’s installed?
@agnivo007 @SwampRabbit that thunar function used to call system-config-samba, which is not longer available due to the migration away from python 2. Thanks for finding the bogus thunar entry.

which brings up...is there something to replace the function with?
So how do I set up a network share/folder on mx 21 host? Is the important feature being permanently dropped? How does upstream bullseye handle this? Instead of thunar rt click, we could setup shares using another app in mx19 if I remember. Please elaborate, have been bugged a lot by this on mx19kde systemd too. Hoped network sharing would work well this time.

@agnivo007 upstream debian tells you to edit smb.conf directly.

we are looking into it.

I think we should stay, with the change to sudo as default. It took me a day to get my brain reprogrammed. Older Mepis users <,hand in air> know what they liked AND know how to change it.
