My Epson scanner is only detected by sane-find-scanner run as root. As user, it returns:
@Gaer Boy could you check to see if adding the saned user to lp and/or plugdev groups helps with your scanner setup issue. you might need to reboot for the changes to take affect.
@dolphin_oracle This had no effect. I think a udev rules entry may work - I'll have to work out where to put it.

On the fresh install of 19.4 the mouse does not seem to 'go to sleep' immediately after typing in the search box on the menu.

For the other themes, there is a highlight on even the first search result in the menu.

It looks like you have Breeze Dark set. I checked and OOTB it's fine.

Can you go to Tools> Options > LibreOffice - View > Icon style to "Automatic (Colibre)
Confirmed that I have the Breeze Dark, but I didn't change it. That was how it was. I'll try the change tomorrow - I'm back in MX-19 for today because I don't have my backup routines set in MX-21 yet.
@SwampRabbit OK, that sorted the problem. It occurs to me that when I first opened LO i had a new version dialog. I thought I just closed it but I could have changed something.

WallE runs mxkde, antiX19, mx19xfce [this qsi.]
The same usb that runs in those other three machines
stops at the bios splash.
With internal drive plugged in it will not give boot menu.
With no internal drive hooked up it will not start nor give boot menu. ;
it is blocked from seeing any bootable devices (but no message cunclusion comes)
it is just locked on the bios splash and goes no further.
usb image is by both mx and antiX live-usb-maker. have done full and dd.; always the same= it starts in three machines and it fails in WallE.

Also after having typed, the mousepad takes a long time to 'wake up'.
wakup time is configurable in the Mouse & Touchpad settings. by dfeaul its 2 seconds I think. I usually change mine to about .5 seconds.

in whisker, only the first search result doesn't have a highlight. navigating the menu puts a box around other items.
On the fresh install of 19.4 the mouse does not seem to 'go to sleep' immediately after typing in the search box on the menu.

For the other themes, there is a highlight on even the first search result in the menu.
the sleep time on touchpads (not mouse) is new on mx21.

FYI: mx "test" repo is not the same thing as debian testing repo.

Hi, I tried installing on an existing MX-19 machine with encrypted root filesystem (and no separate /home partition): although the installer help on the left mentions the "Preserve /home" option, I actually couldn't see that in the drop down list, so I aborted installation. Am I missing something, is the installer unable to preserve /home if root is encrypted, or is this a bug in the installer?
Thanks
