Just want to say I love MX KDE!
Re: Just want to say I love MX KDE!
I used to work with Mint-KDE for a lot of years and I loved it.
But then suddenly they decided to stop the KDE-Version because of internal technical reasons.
Searching for a substitute, which took a long time testing all the available distries, was painful somehow.
Thanks to good luck I discovered the new MX-KDE-Version.
Oh yeah! Different and interesting and at a high technical level.
After 2 weeks of testing, I installed it on 3 different machines with different tasks.
Yes, it was a good decision and I think I´m happy now with that new KDE-world.
Great thanks for developing it!

I'd also like to thank the team in general and Adrian in particular for this release. I used KDE back in the old Mandrake days and more recently on Fedora 27 so it's nice to see this option. My everyday machine is on 19.2 ahs so I'm just running 19.4 from a live usb but everything seems to work well. I'll stick with 19.2 for now as I can't find the time for a reinstall. By the time I do 21 will probably be out so that will be even better.
Actually, the 19.2 boot screen says 'Stoney not supported' and sometimes just before the login screen appears the screen will display wiggly lines for a split second, like when a TV loses its signal. But after login and Xfce is up and running there's never a problem. Haven't seen this at all on 19.4 so perhaps it's now supported?

Agree with comment about MX Linux KDE *like putting on your old favourite slippers*.uncle mark wrote: Tue Oct 20, 2020 11:59 am Essentially equivalent. With Mepis, I had to make very few tweaks and config changes to get the OS to my liking, and the same held true for MX KDE. Once I made those changes it was like putting on a comfortable pair of old slippers.
Except it`s too hot here for fluffy slippers, more those favourite old double-plugger thongs up here (FNQ).
A very good stroll down memory lane installing MX Linux 19.4 KDE AHS (dual boot with win10).
OOBE is brilliant!!!
Don`t like to compare MEPIS to MX at all; too many zeros & ones have gone under the bridge, but I will

Absolutely Brilliant

Thank you @AdrianAdrian wrote: Fri Sep 25, 2020 2:47 pmThanks, it's always nice to hear that what you do is of use to somebody. I started the KDE project because I knew that there are some fans around (especially former MEPIS users) who prefer KDE environment and would like to have something set up from the start instead of having to install KDE and have a bunch of Xfce and KDE tools mixed together.Sparky wrote: Fri Sep 25, 2020 2:18 pm It's great! You created a winner distro: I love it because it works on a modern laptop as well as older hardware. All you MX developers are brilliant. I have made a donation to support you a little bit ...

Re: Just want to say I love MX KDE!
I have installed many other KDE distro with my GTX 1060 NVIDIA graphic driver card. Due to my work, I usually keep the computer running in 4 or 5 day. The other distros would get freeze problem sooner or later. But I won't meet this situation with MX KDE at this moment after a month installed. I hope the stable system will remain for the longtime.Adrian wrote: Fri Sep 25, 2020 4:04 pm I've seen some reports of freezes, but I think it was mostly due to video card/driver and not related to KDE itself.
For me I could use any DE, (as long as they have a desktop with icons -- that was one of my first bone with KDE 4 icons on desktop were an afterthought, a decent launcher and a panel) I don't mind Xfce, it's actually pretty good, but when I stated to use KDE again it was like coming back home, I really like Dolphin, I like the themes and looks of KDE animations, how I can go on top-left corner to show all the windows, etc. I don't even use all the features like different activities but it's nice to know they are there.
Keep up your amazing work MX team.

Re: Just want to say I love MX KDE!
Yes like it too. What i do not like are these actual modifikations to the control bar. I think this people here not really can handle it. What they are doing is useless to me. So the new update procedure. Before it was nice and easy and fast using the terminal which is available from system starting by Yakuake. The green symbol informed me about update, just clicked it and Yakuake started, not even asked me for the "J". That was all. Now it is horrible, complicated and lengthy. And they still don't know how to handle the control bar options. ALT + D, ALT + S, nothing happens. No way also to remove the battery symbol i really don't need. Let it be guys.
Re: Just want to say I love MX KDE!
Also pre-pictures were missing over night. In dolphin and desktop settings for backgrounds. Somehow kio-extras has gone lost.. How silly but easy to fix, even for me. Thanks to duckduckgo and debianforum.

Can this be fixed? Also, why not create a new thread for this instead of posting here regarding these issues?
