Were you the thread starters? If not you will not have a check mark as you cannot take the solved away. You are also not moderators.

Yep. I just marked as solved (you remember my Quick System Info thread..). But once you click that, all check icons disappear..

maybe only works for mods and minions and not for the blue and orange people

In your case I missed enabling that in that Forum. It is enabled now.
