Yup, works great. I used to use samba on my network, but as I eliminated the last windows machine on my network, it seemed to stop working. (at least the discovery part to find the other machines).

Then I heard about this, maybe a post by SwampRabbit or on the internet. But I installed it last year, and it has been great, easy to use to move files from one machine to another.

A classic linux tool, does one thing really well.
MX 23.6 on Asus PRIME B650
AMD Ryzen 9700X (16 threads @ 3.8 GHz)
64 Gig DDR4 6400 (Crucial)
Nvidia GeForce GT 710
Samsung 970 NVMe nvme0n1 P1-3=MX-23.5, P4=testing
Samsung 980 NVMe =2TB Data, plus 2TB WD =backups
on-board ethernet & sound

Thank you both for testing and providing feedback.

I honestly don't know if Warpinator can be moved to the Stable repo, I'd have to double check that moving the dependencies aren't going to affect the removal of a version needed by something or someone. If it breaks even one application for one person, I'd rather just leave it in MX Test Repo, it isn't like we make it hard for folks to find and install it via MX Package Installer. ;) For MX-21 and forward this should be in the Stable repos no problem though.

I think those dependencies break the cinnamon version from the Debian repo. Specifically the 'xapp' packages

The panel icon is only in black, not in white, hard to see with a dark colored panel.

you can change the icon .... my solution is a dock with a big green alien head for good measure ... think it suits the name of the app

i really am getting a lot of use from this app btw ... really useful

You are absolutely right, this is because the Xfce panel needs a patch to display the new style icons that change with the panel, it affects a lot of applications actually. Thanks for bringing it back up.

Install the xfce-panel using MX Pacakage Installer > MX Test Repo tab. Log out and log back in, problem solved.

I’m gonna have to get this version of the panel moved to the stable Repo or make it a dependency of Warpinator.

This won’t affect the 4.16 xfce-panel in MX-21 because it works like it should OOTB.

i rarely dip into xfce but as far as i can tell, the KDE panel does not respect icon changes either

just did a new install on a new (old) laptop

i didn't realize that warpinator was still in the test repos

in case you want test repo feedback, i just wanted to say that i have been using it daily for months across the home network on various machines and it works beautifully ...
