The year 2011 was particularly marked by the so-called Arab Spring. Starting with the revolution in Tunisia, protests, uprisings and revolutions in the Arab world were directed against the authoritarian regimes and the political and social structures of these countries in several states in the Middle East (Mashrek / Arabian Peninsula) and in North Africa (Maghreb).

With a successful independence referendum, the new state of South Sudan, which is from now on independent from the Muslim north and with a majority Christian population, was born.

The year 2011 was also marked by the Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami on March 11th. As a result of the natural disaster, a series of serious accidents occurred in several reactor blocks at the Japanese nuclear power plant Fukushima I.

We have the corona pandemic here, we are not allowed to be in public spaces from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m (with or without car). Firing rockets and firecrackers (from the previous year) is also only allowed on private property. Unfortunately, nothing remains of 2010. Tenants therefore do not have their own property. May only light sparklers on the balcony.

:toast: :grouphug: <-- additionally not allowed

So yesterday I went hiking from 5-7 p.m. - sport in the fresh, clean air to maintain health.

We had a much, much stricter lockdown in April and May and strict mask and face shield requirements (among other things) since then, which may be why ours only lasted two months and the number of new cases in my city is in the low single digits (including zero for many days.) Be safe!

In 2005 I had a domain name user-contributions to give a bit back to the amazing open-source community. Not only as a receiver but also as a contributor. This domain was active for five years. Then I got busy with my daily work as a voluntary social worker. Thanks to MX, this year brought me back as a contributor again.

My main contribution is still an experiment but promising. The last update of Fvwm myExtensions (ver. 0.6.2), proves that FVWM can make a difference in the efficiency of how a desktop is behaving and the usage of memory.
