Massive remodel going on on the house, so Thursday I will be working from this. :number1:

It may work so well you will put 19.3 on it. After the renovations are done and you are back on your main system that is.

I've spent the past week on a 10-year old, 6 pound, 17-inch Dell laptop which has a battery life of about 30 seconds. I think I'd happily trade for an eeepc with a wonky control key.

Oh.. I might.. dunno. This works for what I need to do that day ;)

Just a bit more slowly hahaha.

The key works.. it registers when I want to make a keycombo shortcut thing, it shows as multikey, and then when I hit another key the multikey bit disappears and just the letter shows up as if I have pressed Shift. It is the ctrl key.

Ah well.. as said: minor annoyance. This is better than working on my phone!

Maybe you just install a newer kernel from MXPI first. Even on this very old 32bit HP (single core) antiX 5.8 is perfect, quiet and not heavy :)

P.S. (Though older than your current 4.13) You can also try antiX 4.9.240.. Lightest, stable...

Meanwhile, it seems you also prefer horizontal panels :)

:) Ok.

" If it ain't broken ... "

But just 1 humble suggestion: Especially on that one: install (just try) SlimJet as browser. The 32bit version really makes a huge difference..

She probably shouldn't be messing with updating the kernel right now, when it's going to be the only machine available to her for work during this period. :-P
