Re: Thunderbird
our epoch "2" is in place but our 78.4.0 is in test.Stevo wrote: Fri Oct 30, 2020 9:36 pm Debian Buster updated to 78, but I thought we had added an extra epoch to the MX versions so they would still be seen as higher...
I'm fully updated and still on 68.12

Re: Thunderbird
Hi, CharlesV.
+ Open Google Calendar 1.5 (Feb 2020): compatible
+ QNote 0.6.3 (Oct 2020): compatible
Not sure whether all the incompatible addons are needed on Thunderbird 78.4.0 still or whether their goals can be achieved without them.
Hope it helps a bit at least.

Re: Thunderbird
Thanks Karl. yup.. been working on all those.
I have now added tbSync and its CalDav addon's which brought my googla calendar and contacts back up . (Dupes with the OLD provider, but easy enough to resolve once I know for sure its all working ;- )
Calendar tweaks and xnote I can live without - Dont see direct replacements yet.
Phoenity Icons isnt working, that is on my list next.
Other than phoenity, my custom CSS, and my Glass Black theme not working properly in preferences (all dark pages!), I believe I am up. All rules good, all folders still all good (21 gb of email !! years and years !) ...
Gonna try to ride it out if I can - looking go so far (knock on wood) ... Would like the improvements of 78... so... onward !

Re: Thunderbird
Some Notes for anyone interested:
- MUST remove the OLD providers before attempting to load any new services (ie Google providers, xnote, phoenity etc etc. ) Once old addon's have ben removed, then restart TB and can install and use the new addon's.
- Custom CSS is a little different in some areas, but 90% seemed to go right in.
- Qnote looks like a great replacement, however sadly old Xnotes are lost :-(
- Glass Black theme appears to be a mess :-( ( works - but a mess )

Re: Thunderbird
FWIW - I did upgrade a working thunderbird-68.12 in VM to 78.4.0 and nothing was broken but the only extension I'm using is calendar/lightning. - Mike

Re: Thunderbird
Hi,
am up and running with Thunderbird 78.4.
gContact sync indeed initially seemed to be a deal breaker for me.
But I found CardBook to be a viable alternative, that works just fine for me.

Re: Thunderbird
FYI .. this morning TB 68 on several of my clients windows machines rolled over into 78.4 ... so no question - Mozilla rolled the update from 68.

Re: Thunderbird
You're probably aware there have been several critical vulnerabilities reported recently against Thunderbird and Firefox.
