intetgration of OpenStreetmap-Data (POI) to Wordpress: - retrieval....functions

Here you can just talk about MX or post interesting topics about what you have done in MX that you want to share with others. Other non-MX topics can be discussed within the Rules of the Forum.

intetgration of OpenStreetmap-Data (POI) to Wordpress: - retrieval....functions

#1 Post by say_hello »

dear community,

today i have a special question - regarding openStreetmap:

the question: can we run and apply the data from the Open data collaboration https://healthsites.io in wordpress?

What do you think about this!?

in other words: can we add the data from https://healthsites.io/map in a iframe - so that we can display it in wordpress!?
see: https://healthsites.io/map

note: the officials of the project wrote to me: The data are all published under ODBL and are hosted in OpenStreetMap and as such they are freely shareable with acknowledgement to OSM (and a nice mention about healthsites would be great). If you do not expect to be placing high load on the server it is probably no issue, if you expect to be a high traffic site we would like to discuss how you can support the overhead of the traffic on our infrastructure.

background: i work for an organization that contributes to volunteering opportunities especially in the field of education and medicine (hospital, clinic etc. etx). peace and development through volunteerism worldwide. Volunteerism - in general - is a powerful means of engaging people in tackling development challenges, and it can transform the the engagement of a single volunteer. Volunteerism benefits both society at large and - besides that- the individual volunteer by strengthening trust, solidarity and reciprocity among citizens, and by purposefully creating opportunities for participation. At the moment we re thinking about doing some first steps with the great dataset of healthsites.
– regarding healthsites this is the most important link: https://healthsites.io/api/docs/

Means there is an API to get the data from with a personal API key …: note: with this - i should be able to put the data on a website

e.g. to a mapping plugins of wordpress. there some of them working with openStreetmap - see for example: https://de.wordpress.org/plugins/search/map/
they are equipped with a whole lot of top notch and very advanced features so we do not need to manually embedded map.

In addition to single or multiple locations, interactive map plugins provide:
– were able to add – Custom icons and markers
– Animations
– Filter and search options
– Clusterization
– Zooming and panning
– pinning the map to a block
– using the data that comes shipped with the map.

question: can we run and apply the data from the Open data collaboration https://healthsites.io in wordpress

note: a iframe and the integratin of this page would be thinkable: https://healthsites.io/map

or the other method - to gather the data of the hospitals in the world - and only the POI - the point of interest -nothing more!

perhaps i can gather the data via

. osmconvert ( cf. https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Osmconvert )

. osmfilter ( cf. https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Osmfilter )

this would reduce the dataset to a minimum...:

-and aferwards store the data set in a plugin like participands database (https://wordpress.org/plugins/participants%20database )

Note: i only need to have the data of the hospitals - nothing more -only the POIs of the hospitals...

have a great time!!

You've been doing this for years and even create different user ids and claim to be a new linux user. Can't have 15 yrs experiences and also be new. You just appear lazy. if you cant or won't read the docs then quit asking others to read them for you.

This is a second time you have posted this statement when there is no reason to.
Also calling names or talking down to users in the manner that you are is not accepted on the forums. You have two posts right now, I suggest you use your posts to be helpful instead.

say_hello's post is in the "Community Fun" forum section. There is nothing wrong with their post, their work, questions, and discussions on OpenStreetmap are quite interesting when you take the time to look at it.

Apologies, but I don't feel it is attacking someone by pointing something out. May have been out of line saying "lazy", but this particular person has been working on this for at least 5 yrs. They get advice but don't follow up. Lather/rinse/repeat. This is, essentially, spam.

Yes, the topic is interesting, and also well documented. They hook the 'volunteerism' thing into their post this time, and I'm guessing its because the op wants someone to volunteer to do this. Hate to see yet another forum go down this same path wtih this poster.
