My first desktop was at Linux Mint, but for me personally, back then (2014/15), too unstable, no day without freezing or other bugs and I ended up at opensuse and xfce.

I think Cinnamon was only using 700mb ram for me after a few tweaks.

Of course it can. That was the first start after installation, there is always plenty of room for optimisation, with every distribution and every desktop.
Last week I installed Mint Cinnamon on a trial basis, which was a bit more "economical" at 780-800mb.

It was just my curiosity to see Cinnamon on my computer again. On my working horse I like it a little bit simpler visually.
my working horse Desktop AMD Ryzen 9 3900x, 32GB Ram // SSD ... enough
mx-fluxbox, what else?

is it possible to install cinnamon 5 on linux mint 19, or would it be better to use cinnamon 21? in mxlinux, is cinnamon version 5 present?
