I am not sure what I can do next other than restore from snapshot. In case this helps someone, I've had no issues running the older version dockbarx in 19.3 for many months. In this older thread Swamprabbit pointed out that the only real issue in using the old version code was that it was doing a version check, and after bypassing that I've had no issues ever since - until today when I ran an update:
I don't think any of that was needed anymore, we "had" a working dockbarx and xfce-plugin, although it was the gtk2 variant.
I see Stevo updated what looks to be the dockbarx gtk3 beta version for both MX-17/18 and MX-19.
But we still have the old panel-plugin, which probably doesn't work with that version of dockbarx.
Most people don't want the whole dockbarx, they just want the panel plugin, but it relies on it.
So might be worth at least keeping the gtk2 variant available, but ensuring the the name separates which one it is.
If no one else gets to it... I'll take a look in the next few days. I have other things pressing that need worked on right now.
