we haven't changed anythemes, but its very possible with Qt that some apps won't work with a given theme.

But why did they look good in Beta 1 and now in Beta 2, do they look blank? It's the same theme I'm using.

I don't know, but we literally did 0 with the themes.

what's the theme you are using?

I fixed the problem. The color theme I use is KvCyan, I changed it to another one and went to System Preferences > GNOME/GTK Application Graphics Style and left everything in Breeze, I put the KvCyan theme back and you can now correctly see the applications where before you only saw white.
EDIT:
I also deleted the folders of those applications that were blank, unreadable and that I had backed up from Beta 1 to put them back into Beta 2 and reinstalled the programs. Maybe they had some error internally or a bad color configuration.

I think thunderbird should be set as default mail client since Kmail is not install in the Beta version. Also in Okular the odt backend should be installed by default as many files today are .odt files.

I'm not on the beta but on a kde respin. I tried to get kmail to work, would have been perfect, but I simply could not get it to send mail. Seems to be a known issue regarding new accounts. I uninstalled it and installed Thunderbird, and it worked fine right away. The BirdTray auxilliary program is a must for it, ime.

A few days ago Kmail couldn't read my gmail-account (on Kubuntu). It's telling that Kmail and the other akonadi packages aren't included anymore in the default Kubuntu 20.04 installation, it uses Thunderbird now.

The elevation prompt for KDE Partition manager fails to pass the user entered password when clicking the button to send it (sorry, not on any KDE machine right now) and the only option out of the floating elevation prompt window is to use the top right X to close it. The next informative windows says it will open without admin rights and therefore, it becomes useless, however, it is opened correctly by the MX Installer. It was a little slow to display the installed drives (5 in my just obtained test machine) due to calling up smartctl on each one as they are opened, which I think is a nice touch. This is repeatable irrespective of what machine it is run on, however, using the F4 terminal drop down, sudo partitionmanager opens it just fine.

Also confirming the Update Notifier opening itself after an update is finished, however, only tried it running live on a 9YO machine with plenty of RAM where it appeared sluggish.

QSI from the Live session of my own monthly snapshot of regular MX-ahs, so ignore the trimmings and differences, it's just 5 times faster than this KDE beta. I see no reason to include repos and extra so I removed the options from the inxi switches

all these stupid kdesu prompts ask for the user password instead of the root user. to me it looks hardwired in to the apps. muon does the same thing. we modified the muon desktop entry, we could possbily do the same to partitionmanager.

the freeze happens when you give the wrong password. its a horrible bug in kdesu (kde-cli-tools).

Some MX Tweaks I'd like to see be added:

• Disable the 30-second pause before logging out, shutting down or restarting so you don't have to go hunting through the Plasma settings to find it.(Even better would be to be able to change the timer value if that setting's in a config file somewhere, but via the Plasma GUI it's either the default 30 second delay or none.)
• Toggle between single- and double-click to open apps on the desktop and in Dolphin (it's a global setting for both, unlike Thunar where its behavior and the desktop's behavior can be set separately.)

To save hunting for these in Plasma: the timeout is disabled in System Settings -> Workspace -> Startup and Shutdown -> Desktop Session: unselect "Confirm logout" and Apply. The single-click is changed in System Settings -> Desktop Behavior -> Workspace. Change "Click behavior" to double-click and Apply.

The single/double-click toggle is already there. It works, but when clicking on 'apply' I think it restarts plasmashell, which isn't necessary because switching the settings the 'normal' way doesn't do this and also works.
Personally I'd disable the 30-pause by default (not many people will complain 'hey, why don't I get a 30-second delay?'), but having the option to change the 30 seconds into 10 seconds might be useful for some.

So it is. I didn't see it earlier when I checked before posting. MX Tweak in Plasma has a different tab layout than in Xfce and I missed it.
