I just installed beta 2 and I get an update but the green box does not appear but only a notification, I looked for the green box in the menu and clicked to activate it but it does not appear in the taskbar.
I updated by Konsole

It's a clean installation, zeros including the /home.
I already solved the problem, I had distilded an option in the section Startup and Shutdown > Background Services.
Not a beta 2 problem.

Sorry if this has already been reported earlier...
it tends to slide into the hidden part of the systray. click that littel triangle.

it shows up without an icon though...
Sorry, but I'd like to dredge it up one more time: why would we want it included if it's hidden and has no icon, whereas KDE's power manager (name?) is readily available and covers this function just fine? What does it add? Wouldn't it be better if we just tag it with something like DontShowIn=KDE?
no problem.

it serves exactly the same function it serves on Xfce and fluxbox. controling software brightness rather than the hardware backlight. the kde and xfce power managers control the hardware backlight on laptops. the software control was in response to users with desktops wanting to turn down the brightness (although I still don't know why those uses don't just use the display controls for that, but not my call). folks asked for the feature and we made it. you'll note the display tab in Tweak is not present on plasma or flux though. that tab has a lot of Xfce only features.

the icon thing will be fixed in an upcoming update.

Live-USB: testing of the new KDE additions to MX-Tweak:
The panel orientation worked to move the bottom panel to the left side. However, if I made the bottom panel fatter (increased height) and then moved it, the left panel still remained at its original default skinny thickness. On the other hand, moving it back to the bottom restored it to the increased height that I had set.

There was no option to save the current panel config before moving the panels around. I assume that the settings for panel configs are not so easy to get to/more complex unlike in XFCE.

Tested the option to disable the KDE single-click default mode. Works.

During installation, I chose to save desktop changes.

After installation, I rebooted and found:
1. bottom panel had the increased panel height I had set, yay!
2. the single click remained disabled so I was straight away in double click mode.

That's where I am so far.
there is not option to save the panel because unlike with Xfce, we don't actually do anything to the panel except relocate it.

also irritatingly, KDE saves a lot of panel settings based on size. including height. KaOS has a panel config for about 20 different screen resolutions built in to get around that problem, although the height still remains whatever the current config is.

Hello dolphin_oracle and everyone
mouse click on Desktop

-middle-click paste
the settings of: prevent empty clipboard, and save clipboard contents on exit
on install the middle-click always paste a notes on desktop.
On live session instance the clipboard is empty to begin and no notes is opened when the clipboard is empty./ no action. On live session once the clipboard has content the middle-click on Desktop opens notes.
This clipboard save on exit overrides the Desktop Session "Start with an empty session" (?)

-left-click-hold plus right-click
opens a context menu sub menu condensed

"clipboard" does not appear in menu

Just want to say I'm glad MX has decided to go with a KDE edition. To my mind this will open up a large new segment of users who want a highly sophisticated and beautiful DE to the excellence of MX. It should be a big win for everyone.
