MX-19.2 KDE Beta 2 Feedback Thread

[dolphin_oracle]

Running live in Virtualbox. When I try alternative menus it changes the menu icon from MX to generic Plasma one. It stays that way when I switch back.

After switching menus, the list of applications in Favorites is changed to what looks like a combination of MX and Plasma entries.

Since I was live in VB, I ran QSI there.

Yep not much we can do on that but if you use Look And Feel to set the theme back to MX and chexk the layout box you will get all the defaults back.

- Display settings don't show the right refresh rates on the 1440p (limited up to 60hz), but NVidia Settings does (165hz).

I went back in to the "Displays", and now the rest of the refresh rates are back. This was after I went in to the NVIDIA Server Settings.

Okay, so I just did the following:

And it removed the proprietary drivers. I then went to reboot, and got an error.

I tried to restart the application, but it gave me the same exception again.

I ran it live from boot and all was ok until I clicked on the wireless connections icon, chose my ssid and entered the password.

Then everything froze completely (except for cursor); I had to REISUB to restart.

Thanks Adrian for the reply. I kind of thought that but I've seen it done both ways in other distros. So thought I would ask.

Yep, it will not be a full and accurate test of b2, if you simply update b1.

Some configs and settings won't be pulled in if you simply apply updates to b1. They will only be there if you install afresh from the beta2 iso. A fresh test may unearth new bugs (fingers crossed that won't happen) that for instance have resulted from the new fixes and configs themselves. If no one runs the true beta2, those bugs may never be detected until RC or final release.

It may seem inconvenient but this is after all the testing phase.

Alright, so I just did a fresh install of Beta 2. I did not install the NVIDIA drivers, and when I went to install steam, I did get the agreement window this time around, but also got an error through the MX Package Installer:
