Yeah, we'd like to fix that, it would be great if somebody could point us to a fix or something, it's hard to believe that KDE is broken like that in Buster...
to change the time in KDE, right click on the time icon and select congigure digital clock, there you will find a few things you can change.
That didn't work for me. There appears to be some bug in that applet and it won't ask and accept a password. Hopefully that applet can be disabled and the MX Date&Time app can be run in it's place.

It works only if you boot systemd, that function seems to depend on systemd.

Hi Asqwerth, I added my system info to the text above for July 13th. I hope the feedback is helpful, and not just a fluke of this 9 year old laptop. Cheers, and thanks for all your work on this system!

It may very well be that the AHS kernel is too new and not a good fit for your old 9-yr-old laptop; I do not know. Perhaps someone else can.

Since we are a small team, the MX KDE iso will be released only in 64-bit version with the newer AHS kernel.

If the live USB kind of works for you except for sound, you might wish to see if you could - while running live - install (using the mx live kernel updater tool) the 4.19 kernel that comes with the standard release of MX19, and then remaster the live usb stick to boot from the 4.19 kernel instead to see if the sound works with that.

I've been testing the live iso and so far working well. only thing is a error message during boot that says "can not sync dB" or something like that. It appears just before the desktop begins to load.

Pdf arranger on the Beta iso does not work:

Code: Select all

Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/bin/pdfarranger", line 6, in <module>
    from pkg_resources import load_entry_point
ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'pkg_resources'

Thanks, there's a package missing: python3-pkg-resources I will add it in Beta2.
Frankly that is a pdfarranger problem, it should list that as a dependency, somebody should file a bug with pdfarranger maintainer...
