No, I have MX Linux, there is the MX snapshot and on the USB stick created with it is not only what I need for a "bare-metal restore". And if something goes wrong, I can reinstall right away :-)

I'll say it from a photographer's point of view:
If you already have a 24-70/2.8 GM OSS, then you don't take an additional 28-70 mm f/3.5-5.6. Not even for free ;-)

I had a short look at it until I saw the 757 mb download size in uGet.

Then i`ve seen redobackup.org on the bottom of the site.

same same

https://sourceforge.net/projects/redobackup/

Just a new name for crowdfunding?

Haven't heard of it but I've always used Clonezilla and it's always done the job well, and last version I used was about a 250 mb download.

I'd be interested in how they compare. Thanks for the info.

Apparently Rescuezilla is a fork of Redo Backup which was started when Redo appeared abandoned after 7 years (and had a serious bug). The Redo dev has resurfaced and is restarting development albeit in a slightly different direction. You can read the discussion between Redo and Rescuezilla devs on Sourceforge.
Please note: Rescuezilla is currently only suitable for backup and restore of whole hard drives. It is not yet well-suited for restoring partitions individually, as might be desired for users with dual-boot systems. Even with this limitation Rescuezilla is still useful for many end-users.

Rescuezilla v1.0.7 will be released in a few months and will be a major upgrade, adding support for backup and restoring images in Clonezilla format, in addition to restoring partitions individually.
I downloaded v1.0.6 for a sticky beak but likely will still use Clonezilla for now. I almost never restore a full drive but restore partitions more regularly. Rescuezilla v1.0.7 with those promised new features will be much more useful.
