Support, Screen Tearing.

#1 Post by dada666 »

Hello, today I've installed this cool distro!
Everything is working fine, but I have screen tearing. When I am moving a window it just doesn't feel like it's smooth.

I am rocking: AMD GPU (r7 370), AMD Phenom II x6 1090T and 8gb of DDR3 ram.

Thank you

Hi and Welcome.
Use windows manager tweaks. Go to the compositor and try different settings.

Here what mine looks like with no tearing:

MX Linux Asus F552, 12GB RAM, 500GB WD SSD MX19.2
Dell Inspiron 7559 16GB RAM 1X 256GB SSD & 1TB SSD MX KDE 21.1 & Windows 11
Mini Tower PC 2X 256GB SSD MX KDE21.1

Thanks!
My settings are exactly the same and I still have screen tearing..
Do you want a video or something, maybe I am wrong and my problem is not screen tearing?

I don't have a video sorry. I'm, sure one of the more knowledgeable people will help you out soon.
Change your Hz to 60 manually and save.

There is no option for 60hz only 0hz...

You better post full QSI (as in my signature). Maybe it's kernel-related.. 0 Hz is weird...

What about the "Advanced" tab ?

You can also post the output of

Code: Select all

xrandr
