I already got qt5-style-kvantum and qt5-style-kvantum-themes packages installed and Widget Style and Behavior is set to kvantum. Selecting kvantum-dark also makes no difference. I also realized that "configure" button is deactivated for kvantum and kvantum-dark.

Breeze works, Sugar Candy work, Sweet fails, Nordic fails.
I don't need to use SDDM, these issues are not that important but it would be good to see system themes working. Might be my bad, not sure what i did wrong. Maybe i am wrong but i don't think general procedure is selecting a theme at "workspace theme" panel and then try all the "widget style" options one by one. Shouldn't it select the right style automatically ? //edit to this part: Yeah i have never selected widget style before, themes were just working fine on other KDE spins/distros.

On a free time, i will make a fresh bootable MX USB and try again. Thanks again for the answers.

some steps i probably think you miss doing is loading the Nordic theme inside kvantum
.anyway heres how i replicated my look partially

workspace theme look and feel section i didn't change anything from breeze .i found selecting the Nordic theme made the icons invisible.

installed ocs-url from mxpi so that i can install packages direct from store. only download the kvantum theme but for the others recommended packages that go along with the kvantum theme install each of them from the links using ocs-url{best use firefox browser ]

so colour section i choose the NORDIC theme

downloaded the kvantum nordic theme in tar format and extract it to a folder. open kvantum click on install theme and select the nordic theme we have extracted hit install theme inside kvantum{see kvantum install screenshot}

still on kvantum click down section on change/delete theme click drop down menu showing kvantum default and selet the nordic theme we have just installed in previous step. click apply and save.

head to system setting application style change to kvantum {configure button alway inactive so dont worry if you want to configure then open kvantum} click apply

go to windows decoration select nordic [look and feel of win titles] click apply

log out and log in open kvantum to further fine tune your preferred customization such as blur ,buttons size etc ...
since was trying out the theme from live usb stick i incorporated the themes and updated the iso .nordic theme looks kinda nice ...did love it will upload the iso multi section respin .
One thing for sure is that customizing kde to achieve desired looks aint a walk in the park..it can be so confusing at first but once you messed around and known the tricks ...you will be smiling all the way to the theme store lol..
All the best buddy theming. keep safe stay strong.

well generally for distros focused on kde tend to finely polish their themes out of the box and also you must consider the plasma desktop for debian is still old compared to the other distros with rolling-release model but for themes from the kde stores made by users you might need to tweak more than one section to achieve a harmonius look....thats what i think

@mikejade,
Thanks for detailed explanation, worked ! You have nothing to do with that but what i understand is it's a wrong attitude to list these kind of themes at "get new themes" section at KDE system settings because they need an extra tool to install.
