I hope I haven't put this thread in the wrong part of the forum? If I have, sorry about that, please move it to where it belongs?

I just saw this over on the Manjaro forum, & it looks incredibly interesting. I tried to install scrcpy via apt, & I looked in the MX package installer, & in Synaptic & couldn't see scrcpy. Perhaps it goes by another name?
Anyway, here are a couple of links, for those that are interested in controlling the Android phone via their PC:
https://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2019/07/scr ... untu-linux
https://github.com/Genymobile/scrcpy
It works on X.org & on Wayland too. :)
You can download & build the package from the github page (which is apparently not hard to do).

Re: Mirror Android on PC (Linux, OS/X & Windows)
This one captured my interest so I downloaded and followed the instructions to build and install it on the latest live MX18.3 64-bit iso running in a VM.
The build was very easy as the developer said and all I needed to do when finished was to run it from its current location.
If you want a copy of the finished build, PM me and I will send you a link to download a ready to use compressed copy. You will need to install the adb package before you try to run it and have your phone prepared (usb debugging enabled) and connected through the USB, or maybe you can ask nicely on the package requests page and one of the packagers may be able to package it for you.

Hi
I just read about Scrpy and downloaded the sourcecode. But there is no ./configure file in it ....
How did you compile it? I would really like to use the keyboard instead of the small touchscreen for texting.
Thanx 4 ur help

The 1.9 version of scrcpy has been available in the MX Main repository since July 2019.

Yes, it seems so.
Re: Mirror Android on PC (Linux, OS/X & Windows)
Does this only work via USB cable or is there a way to do it over wifi/ bluetooth?

Re: Mirror Android on PC (Linux, OS/X & Windows)
Yes, it can be used over wifi. It requires some manual setup. The scrcpy package in the repository includes the necessary documentation with a separate launcher for it in the Accessories menu.
I just updated it to 1.12.1 and added it for MX-17/18 as well.
