Hi all,
Have a question about the "apt-notifier" in the ICEWM tray.
I saw it was released (as standard when installing for full version of AntiX), so I thought I could install in my latest & fully updated 'base' AntiX.
I used Synaptic, searched for 'apt-notifier', and let Synaptic install.
Everything seemed to go smoothy on the install.
I then rebooted.
After the re-boot, the apt-notifier icon popped up in the ICEWM tray say there were updates.
So, first, I left-clicked on the icon, and nothing happened.
After waiting a minute or two, with nothing happening, I then 'right-clicked' on the apt-notifier tray icon, and finally a menu came up for options. HERE's the problem: no matter what is clicked in that Menu popup, apt-notifier does nothing----one can't open Synaptic, can't check for updates, can't make any of the choices that popup menu offers because clicking on anything does nothing.
I figure this isn't the way it was planned for the 'apt-notifier' to work, or was it?
What baffles me is that I used Synaptic specifically to make sure it would handle any dependencies on the install.
Any ideas where I go from here, to get this to work like it does so well in my other MX-Linux installs?? Otherwise, my 'base' Antix install updated to the latest 19.2 runs gangbusters with no problems.
Much thanks.

Hi Anticapitalista,
Welllllll, of course I didn't....
I'm from Puppy-verse, you know, we just dive-in thinking we know what we're doing, wreck havoc, and then wonder why the water is soon at waist-level & rising fast

P.S. In my defense, I did the other day leave another "why do I even bother with other Linux distros" review of AntiX/MX in the "Other Distro' section.
