Apparently 18.3 installations behave differently ...

So may I add what was my experience from two fully updated MX 18.3 installations (local and frugal):

Installation involves two steps. The base installation is enabled through the MXPackage Installer.
...
It does not appear there. So I have installed mx-fluxbox and fluxbox with Synaptic because in Synaptic fluxbox does not appear as a dependency of mx-fluxbox.

Once that installation finishes, the user clicks an entry in the Menu “MX-flux” to initiate the second step:
...
I could not find this as a menu entry but only by searching for it.

Awesome job Jerry! MX-Fluxbox 1.1 works very well. I'm quite pleased with it. Thanks for your efforts.

I wonder if anybody would install mx-fluxbox package without installing the rest of the fluxbox packages, I think it would be nice to add the rest of packages as dependencies to mx-fluxbox (or recommended at least) so when you install mx-fluxbox (let's say you install it with apt-get not through mx-packageinstaller) it would either bring all the needed fluxbox packages or at least recommend them.

I have just posted an enanced MXPI->pop-apps installer for Fluxbox (with in translation thread) as some translations would not needed for the MXPI pm file if that would be accepted. see (and test) here: viewtopic.php?p=548193#p548193

I am so happy with this MX Flux (fluxbox). It is like extra early Christmas present for me ;)

I did already thank for it on Facebook, but I should thank here as well - so thank you.

It gives new, positive experience with MX, especially on old hardware.

For example, as you can see on one screenshot below, it is possible to watch video stream from YouTube in 1080p on MX 19 64bit Live USB with MX Flux on Celeron 2 GHz and 2 GB RAM. Processor uses max. 50-60% and RAM is about 500-550 MB.

Well, for me it is more than impressive.

The same is with other stuff. MX Flux is really great idea.

Just for feedback:

MX 19 - 32bit :

In my case, Ram gain is only 3-6 MB when idling with the same conky and wallpaper. (percentage is same: 10% )

Cpu usage is also the same but fan is always on ..

When installed from "Stable Repo" and then Menu => MX-flux, Reboot, it didn't appear on Session Menu but after reinstalling from "Popular Apps" tab it was ok.

If you toggle conky off you can't toggle on, you need to restart it from System.. conky manager

If you toggle conky off you can't toggle on, you need to restart it from System.. conky mana
The Toggle is not in the fluxbox menu for a reason: it doesn't work. A few other things don't work either, or not completely. And Conky Manager will screw things up on the Xfce side, so MX Conky is used to avoid that. Thus in the FAQ:
How can I get rid of the FAQ icon, the monitors or any conky?
Menu > Out of sight
The FAQ icon can be restored by navigating ~/.fluxbox/startup and removing the comment sign (= the “#”) at the beginning of the line idesk &. For the conky or monitors, click Menu > System > Conky or Monitors and select the one you want.

Yes, I mean that's the only way, and "toggle" I mean the "Out of sight" => Conky turns it off but not on ..

Which is what the FAQ says: doesn't call it a toggle, it's listed under Out of sight, and the correct way to turn it back on is given.
