Seems to be working for me. When I re-installed mx-fluxbox from the mx package manager and then redid the second step to initiate the home directory shutdown appears.

When can we expect a stable mx fluxbox in the repos?
This long thread, which keeps wandering off-topic, has me totally confused.

The version just released yesterday 12.17.19 is as stable as it's going to get--except for translations. Do an update+distro-upgrade then check if you have it using either MX Package Installer or the terminal:

Code: Select all

apt policy mx-fluxbox
mx-fluxbox:
  Installed: (none)
  Candidate: 19.12.17mx19
  Version table:
     19.12.17mx19 500
        500 http://mirrors.rit.edu/mxlinux/mx-packages/mx/repo buster/main amd64 Packages
        500 http://mirrors.rit.edu/mxlinux/mx-packages/mx/repo buster/main i386 Packages
Production: MX-23 Xfce, AMD FX-4130 Quad-Core, GeForce GT 630/PCIe/SSE2, 16 GB, SSD 120 GB, Data 1TB
Personal: Lenovo X1 Carbon with MX-23 Fluxbox
Other: Raspberry Pi 5 with MX-23 Xfce Raspberry Pi Respin

It's in the repos now, but not yet showing in the Package Installer except for MX-19.

If you want to install it in versions other than MX-19, use Synaptic for the time being.

I always use Synaptic, so which packages from the MX18 repos do I need to install?

(Without using MXPI)
P.S. I am using MX18, in case that is not obvious.
P.P.S. This looks like a good addition to MX18 on an eeePC901.

There's only one called mx-fluxbox...

Personal: Lenovo X1 Carbon with MX-23 Fluxbox

With Synaptic (MX18) I have installed:
fluxbox
menu-fluxbox-antix
mx-fluxbox

Works!
But what else should I install (Wallpapers)?

All you need, as has been said many times in this thread, is mx-fluxbox. That pulls in fluxbox itself and a couple of other small apps. This is not antiX, right? So there is no need to install the antix menu--and for all I know it may take over an you will have the antiX setup, which is completely different (no Xfce to start with). If you want to have what MX has developed, remove the antiX package.

What you do with wallpapers is your affair; the menu points by default to the collection of wallpapers that MX provides by default and there are a lot there already.
