Showfoto font size SOLVED

#1 Post by Siles »

How do I increase size of fonts on title and tool bars? The font is too small to read without a magnifier. Could not find directions in user guide.

Please run MX Tools/Quick System Info, then right-click paste into a reply. (Quick System Info automatically copies the information to your clipboard, already formatted properly for pasting into the forum so all you have to do is a right-click/ paste, not a copy/paste.) Thanks.
Please read the Forum Rules, How To Ask For Help, How to Break Your System and Don't Break Debian. Always include your full Quick System Info (QSI) with each and every new help request.

There are a few settings you can try:

In settings manager under Personal - window manager - title font, increase value.

In settings manager under Personal - appearance - fonts, increase top value.

In settings manager under Personal - appearance - settings, increase the scaling.

To add.. this will increase the size of all things in your install. Not just Showfoto, but it is worth a try if no other solution can be found.

Also, in the command line:

Code: Select all

apt policy showfoto
You're still on MX 16.1, if we are to believe your sig.

Actually in MX19. No problem in 18.3 but can not find any way to change the font size in taskbars ro a readable size. Only program with this problem. In fact Digikam font is perfect.

I just prefer showfoto to nomacs.

Forgot about sig updateing

Showfoto is a Qt5 application. Changing the system font size in Qt5ct should do it.
For some reason, when you change the system font, Qt5ct jumps to italic or bold italic - set it back to regular before you save the setting.

If qt5ct is installed it will show up as Start -> Settings -> Qt 5 Settings
Install it if it's not there. Using it is pretty self evident.
n.b. Be patient. It takes longer for Qt5ct to start up than most applications. It takes 10 seconds to show up on the machine in my sig.

Tim

I installed QT5ct but when I run it i\I get the following error message:

"The QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME environment variable is not set correctly (current value: gtk2, required value: qt5ct)."

Also cannot use "apply" so nothing changes.

What now?

When you run showfoto?
Change the theme in qt5ct to Fusion or another one you like.

I fixed that problem in Digikam, but Showfoto builds along with Digikam & I didn't know I had to fix that separately...
