Yet it's good to know that the PPA seems to work for vit.frost, so maybe it can be ported to the MX repos.

dockbar and plugin work fine no only appearance settings not critical but still )

Dockbarx and the plugin (gtk2 version) were already proven to work in the MX-19 betas, but it was dirty solution.

I am still working on packaging this officially via the gtk3 version. The gtk2 version won’t be good long term like I already said.

I am aware of that PPA but it doesn’t seem to be the actual source from Git if I remember right.

Besides the PPA not being official from the developer, as already stated PPAs shouldn’t be used with MX to begin with.
