Great job! Installed quickly and runs beautifully.

I have noticed one issue; I can not change the default app used to open MP3 files. Clementine is the default but I can not change it to Audacious or any other app. After trying the "Open with" option in the file manager I tried changing the default using the Mime Type Editor but MP3 is not in the list of mime types!

Perhaps this is a bug or an error. It could also be that I don't know how to manually edit and change the settings! :)

Welcome to the Forum!

It is not as easy as it should be, and we have submitted an enhancement request to Xfce. For now:

--right-click any mp3 file > Open with
--highlight the app (e.g., Audacious) in the list that you want to use
--scroll down and check the box to make it the default for that type of file, then OK
Production: 5.10, MX-23 Xfce, AMD FX-4130 Quad-Core, GeForce GT 630/PCIe/SSE2, 16 GB, SSD 120 GB, Data 1TB
Personal: Lenovo X1 Carbon with MX-23 Fluxbox
Other: Raspberry Pi 5 with MX-23 Xfce Raspberry Pi Respin

What are the "same results" mentioned in the post you linked to? I can't see what the problem is in those small images.
Sorry for the confusion - please see this (initial) post describing the issues I've seen --> https://forum.mxlinux.org/viewtopic.php ... 70#p534586

I think the question is the horizontal panel overlapping the icons. We tried to replicate that without much success in another thread, I seem to recall, but I will take a look again later today.
And over-lapping the title bar of windows expanded to full-size. See --> https://forum.mxlinux.org/viewtopic.php ... 70#p534586

Not a problem; just not perfect:
During startup the lightdm-wallpaper appears for a moment, before bringing up the desktop
(This does not occur with 18.3)

@srq2625: as I said, so far I have not been able to replicate this behavior, even with the Panel set to 75 width. If that only happens in a VM but is correct in an installation, it is not much of a problem for us.

We can return to your individual situation after we get MX-19 out the door. When that happens, start a separate thread showing us the steps to take from a clean install of MX-19 to reproduce the problem. Or file that as a bug report (click "Bugs" on the top right menu).

In the lightdm settings - if you uncheck the "user wallpaper" box - then it wont do that.

I'm using mx19-rc1 as "static persistent" usb stick. I set keyboard layout with Mx tools -> system_keyboard to Croatian and rebooted. It works in XFCE. But if I open console (ctrl+alt+F1), us keyboard is active. Is that normal?

Can you try to adjust the console keyboard layout with

Code: Select all

sudo setupcon

that worked ... I will reboot and see if it is sticky :-)

EDIT: NOPE, it's not. Back to US keyboard after reboot.
