@Eadwine One difference I see in this line:
Mine
Added to ISO image: directory '/'='/tmp/mx-snapshot-y2hbE1Aw/iso-2'

Yours
Added to ISO image: directory '/'='/home/mx-snapshot-jgQz9oQb/iso-2

I also. I installed using whole disk, no pre-partitioning so my home is under root not a separate partition.

Mine is not using the whole disk. I have partitions for root, home, and swap set up, and one of those tiny partitions one needs for the UEFI lalala.

May be a clue why it failed for me.

issue i have is the Monitor on desktop goes blank or freezes, needs a restart.
it is an AMD system with nvidia GPU. using 4.9.`93 kernel, mainly because 4.19.0.6 doesnt work with iridium browser.
Please run MX Tools / Quick System Info, then right-click and paste in a response. (Quick System Info automatically copies the information to your clipboard, already formatted correctly to be pasted in the forum, so just right click / paste and not copy / paste.) Thank you.

i've been running rc1 on a live usb for about an hour now, i thought it will cool down but my laptop is running slightly hot even after an hour or so. no apps are running except the browser, im sure its not the browser cause it still runs hot (around 60 degrees) on idle(my idle temp on 18.3 is around 39-40 degrees). anybody had the same experience?

@richb, I think the problem is here:
richb wrote: Sat Oct 19, 2019 8:10 am

Code: Select all

xorriso : FAILURE : Cannot find in ISO image: -boot_image ... bin_path='/boot/isolinux/isolinux.bin'
xorriso : UPDATE : 938 files added in 1 seconds
xorriso : aborting : -abort_on 'FAILURE' encountered 'FAILURE'
That file is part of the legacy bootloader in the iso. I don't know why it would be missing. It should be inside of the iso-template.
